Netflix on 60 minutes

Anyone catch the Netflix interview on 60 minutes tonight?

Even the CEO couldn't find a customer service phone number.

I couldn't believe they stuff the outgoing and open the incoming envelopes all by hand. That main warehouse was huge. It was cool to see that.

Their "exercises" were a nice touch as well.

No mention of "throttling" though.

I thought it was a pretty balanced piece; like Frank A said, no mention of the throttling practice, which was Netflix biggest issue for a while. Unbelievable the amount of income the're bringing in.

That was pretty cool to see.
A friend of my buddies sister worked at one of these warehouse and she said it was rough. She ended up getting let go because she couldn't stuff enough envelopes out.
I should ask if that exercise routine staged.

I know that post offices use the automated equipment, but it was still pretty cool seeing how quickly those envelopes are slotted by zip codes.

Geez, stuffing/unstuffing those envelopes would be one boring job!!!
Day after day, week after week, yada yada yada........

Maybe its something like the post office where you alternate several jobs every 15-20 minutes.

That was interesting to see the man behind netflix but I don't rent from them anymore. "Next day delivery"? Yeah, If you live right next to the warehouse. My rentals took at least 6 days for them arrive and I had google for their phone number when it came time to cancel my account, because I was not able to do so through their website.
