Need help! pregnancy and baby books?

I'm looking specifically for a book on the subject of CHILD BIRTH and HOW TO DEAL WITH THE PAIN or anything on LAMOZE stuff that teaches you how to give birth. Does anybody have any recommendations?

Well, there's always WHY YOU SHOULD GET AN EPIDURAL...

For pregnancy books, WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU'RE EXPECTING is the classic.

My wife hated the GIRLFRIENDS' GUIDE books, but I thought they were mildly amusing. Not a lot of practical info, though.

That was the book the wife and I consulted the most before our daughter was born. Definitely a great resource, along with web sites like WebMD and the like.

What to expect...is a great resource.

Make sure to pay up your internet bill, google is your friend for baby issues I think we hit babycenter/parentcenter a lot:

I third the "What to Expect..." series. Good resources, and it's easy to look up something on a particular topic.

According to my wife, who gave birth to our first child last year after MUCH reading & research, "What to Expect..." is good if you're opting for the typical hospital/drugs method. But she's really into natural childbirth, so we took a lot of Bradley Technique classes, and she also clung to the book "Birthing From Within" by Pam England. She HIGHLY recommends it.
