Is the server hosed? My download speed feels like I'm on dialup.

They don't seem to be limiting it to one per user unless the snail-paced download speeds are their way of doing so.

"ATTENTION: We are experiencing longer than expected download times due to the popularity of today's offer. Please rest assured you will receive your complete movie download. We appreciate your patience."

Well that explains my speedy 80 bit/second download.

Consider yourself lucky. I am cruising along at 16bps.

Isn't that ridiculous? How can they run out?
It is just a bunch of files on a computer. They could give away a million copies and still have a full supply.

As AOL is part of Time Warner and Warner is the rights-holder for most of those movies, so it isn't like they really mean "supply of free money is depleted" where they have to pay money to some other copyright owner.

Plus, I am pretty sure these all expire, either after a couple of plays or just sitting their unused for a few weeks. So it really is just rentals they are giving away, not even full-fledged copies.

Of course to get the free movies you have to give AOL your credit card info, so that they can sell it to tons of other leech companies. I said no way and did not download anything, AOL can kiss my ass....

The download app notes that the movies never expire.
