Red Sun (1971) Ever coming out on DVD?

Anybody know if this fantastic movie is ever coming out on region 1 DVD? It's hard not to love a Samurai Western...

If you are region free! Great transfer and it is actually open matte.

I saw this in the theater back in 1971. I thought it was a great mix of western and samuari culture. It looks like that UK version is only full screen though. It would be nice if someone gave this a proper treatment.

The transfer as I stated is open matte, if you have a dvd player that can zoom and a WS TV you can get ~the proper aspect ratio. Not the best way to do it but it can be done.

There's a region-free, remastered anamorphic copy available (Xploited) but I've held off on ordering a copy since I can't find any reviews.

Nice find, this is one of those titles I wish-listed for later and never really thought about getting it until I couldn't have it.

I have that DVD. It's a bit crude, but the film is anamorphic at around 1.78:1. The transfer looks to be about on par with a laserdisc. It's a little muddy, and there are compression issues, but it looks pretty good considering. The audio is pretty impressive. Very loud 5.1 track, although I'm sure the balance on it may not be totally correct. Still, if you're a huge fan of the talent involved and the film, it's the best way to enjoy it for now. $15.95 is a good price for this disc.
