So How About Superman Returns?

I downloaded the demo on my 360 and it's pretty freakin' fun. Anyone in?

I will definitely be picking this up for the 360. I'm sure it's free roaming like in the Hulk and Spider-man 2 game.

If it's half as good as the Superman game they made for the N64, I'm sold.

Loved the demo on the 360. It was a ton of fun flying around and using superpowers, I just dont think that its $60 worth of fun.

I tried the demo last night and found the controls a bit flaky. It takes a while to turn and face your target... but it's okay otherwise. I might wait for the price to drop or try to get thru all my other games before I try this one out.

Agreed, in addition, graphically, the landscape/building textures were bland, even by city-wide free roaming standards. Damage to buildings are sporadic and limited to a small repetative cracking animation.

It's definitely fun but unless we are seeing an early build, it's obvious that this has been rushed for the tie-in dvd release and holiday season.

My sister who works for EA said that they were very leary about this one and how it would end up, but says that it turned out to be a pretty decent game. Ill be getting it mainly due to the discount.

The demo was fun to play, but my biggest reservation is the fact that EA is the publisher. Considering their last couple games, I have to assume that the game will be incomplete and that we as the consumers will get nickel-and-dimed once again. I'll wait and see if this is the case. If not, then I may pick it up used.

I don't think it would be a rush job since this was originally supposed to drop when the movie came out on 6/28.

I enjoyed the flying and super sprint in the demo, but as I thought about it, it seemed too much like Matrix type effects that should belong in a Matrix game over a Superman game.

Well, hopefully we are seeing an early build and the 5 additional months in development has helped. Knowing EA, that 5 months was probably spent on carving out (I mean developing) game content for the xbox live marketplace.

I played the demo tonight and thought it was pretty fun. I enjoyed being able to fly and run superfast. And being able to throw cars. Perhaps it's my simple mind but I could throw cars at buildings all day in that game. Freezing people is quite fun too. The controls are decent and being able to combine freezing and punch attacks is pretty awesome. I'll definitely be picking this up eventually.

That's too bad. But then again, I've liked many a game with crap reviews....

Blazing Angels got so so to crap reviews and I hated it when I first got it. But then I got the hang of the game and now it's one of my favorite 360 games.

The reviews are pretty harsh. Basically everyone seems to say the same thing - the thing that made the demo great, ie all the flying around and using superpowers is basically all you do in the entire game. I can see how that would get repetitive after a while, so I'll rent this at some point.

Ok, fair enough. I'm not saying that the reviews aren't accurate. But one wonders what else would one do in this kind of game? I don't want a Superman game where he's just walking around solving puzzles...

I guess I'll hold off on buying this until I can find a deal. Judging by the response...I won't have to wait long.

I bought it, and have been playing it. I enjoy it, but I'm also a big Superman fan too. It can get repetitive but what game at some point doesn't. Personally I found the higher scored Marvel UA repetitive (dungeon crawl, punch, punch. super power, repeat) but to each his own.

I really enjoy just flying around, similar to all the swinging I did in Spider-Man 2.

Reviews on this are more harsh than they should be, and I would have missed out on a lot of fun games if i ever listened to them

Wow, those are on par with or even worse than the X-Men game reviews.

I thought that the demo was okay, but unless it was a pretty short game, I could see myself getting tired of it pretty early. But then again, if it was a short game, I'd be pissed about the cost of it, so no go for me.

I thought the game was terrible, and I couldnt even finish the 2nd mission due to horrid controls. After that, I popped online and checked the reviews....and my impressions were confirmed.

Once again, another DC based game bites the dust.

In theory, playing as Superman should be at least a little cool. He is an icon after all and the original super hero. I wonder why nobody has really been able to make a good game with him.
