But no female frontal (and no, dead chicks don't count)

I'm a tad disappointed that my pick for the Ice Truck killer has come true. It would've been nice if the show could've surprised me, but maybe I've just seen too many of these kinds of shows to not pick up on the clues early on. I liked the psychoanalyst bits, and it looks like the main arc is picking up steam (with the ex-husband story promising to turn into something a lot bigger).

What a conceit for Tony Goldwyn (director and bad guy for the episode), but since I never have liked his work, the episode worked for me.

So the obvious clues from previous episode did lead to the reveal of the icetruck killer, and Dex is going to be in for a confrontation on 2 fronts when Ken and Barbie finally meet.

Loved Dexter's inner monologue during the analyst sessions. It's sort of funny how he undertakes these self-imposed undercover assignments to solve crimes (though the police cases will end up listed as suicides and not officially solved).

Perhaps we'll find out something else about Rita that makes her psychological makeup sympatico with Dexter's.

I chuckled at the "Is that Eric Carmen?" line.

I think it's pretty cool how the guy amputated the security guard's limbs and then showed up to build the prosthetics.

If you haven't read the (flawed and mediocre) book, there's still a surprise in store. This show has taken a really crude framework and built something much better onto it.

Spoiler:

The show has also put in far more development for characters who were just grist for the mill in the book. If the show bumps them off with the same disdain as the book after doing that, my opinion of it will increase considerably

This is by far my favorite new show of the year. Michael C. Hall should at the very least get an Emmy nomination. Yeah, I kinda figured out who the ice truck killer was a couple of episodes ago, but I'm guessing it wasn't really supposed to be a big shocker.

Yeah what was up with that!? Showtime usually don't shy away from nudity. Actually they usually make a point of having some in all their shows

The scene where he tells the doc he's a serial killer was great. I don't know what is crazier, being a serial killer or pushing a naked Julie Benz off of you.

The Ice Truck killer reveal would have been better if they hadn't beaten us over the head with hints last week.

Well, if the main actresses won't do it they're stuck. Like with the Sopranos -- a lot of nudity, but always from the strippers in the nudie bar or the one-night stands of the mob guys. No chance of ever seeing someone like Meadow or Adriana. For this in "Dexter", I think it'll take an Angel Batista plotline. He seems like the sort to hang out in nudie bars and hook up with fast women

good episode, its nice to see dexter confront his emotions but I feel like the only one that was shocked about the ice killer. Guess Im slow. Cant wait to see how it all unfolds this weekend.
