30 Rock - "Jack-Tor" - 11/16/06

Spoiler:
Liz casts Jack as a sketch performer, but he lacks sufficient acting chops and his main goal is to plug products on the show. Meanwhile, Jenna is tricked into fearing for her job, and Liz suspects that a conniving Tracy is trying to avoid rehearsals by faking illiteracy.

Remember that it starts at 9:20 EST tonight.

Not surprisingly, someone has started a Katie Bowden fansite.

As usual, Baldwin and Morgan were frigging gold. The newspaper bit in the elevator slayed me.

The Tracy Jordan "Smallest Penis" posters were great!

I thought for sure one of Jane Krakowski's boobs were gonna pop out at the end there.

Her coming on to who she thought was Alec's boss was good too.

"I only like guys that drink Snapple."

A lot of product placements tonight (the Office as well), but I don't care as long as they make them entertaining.

This was an awesome ep!

The whole "Snapple" thing.

Tracy: "You mean if I get a Tutor I can leave early?"
Tracy: "NADER! NA-DER!"

Alec: "I think I took a picture"
Alec: "I've showered with Greta Van Sustren"
Alec: "If you were any other woman on Earth, I'd be turned on right now"

I really really like this show, I wonder how much they are paying Baldwin as its well worth it. He and Tina have a great Chemistry..

This show just gets better and better. I can not wait until they add scrubs and have truly the best 2 hours of comedy possibly ever on at once.

Funny episode. I also had go slo-mo to make sure nothing popped out during that last bit.

"Can I have two coffee cups?"

Baldwin is fantastic

I knew this wouldn't do well in the ratings, but... yikes. I hoped it would do better than this.
-------
At 9 p.m., "CSI" scored a 14.7/22 for CBS to beat ABC's "Grey's Anatomy," 13.6/20, by its widest margin this season. The conclusion of "The Office" and "30 Rock," making its Thursday debut, managed only a 4.4/7 (from 9:30 to 10, "30 Rock" was even lower, at 3.2/5). "The O.C." delivered a 2.5/4 for FOX, topping "Supernatural" on The CW.
-------
FWIW, NBC averaged 5.6/9 at 8 p.m.

Scrubs may help prop 30 Rock up. As I recall, it did fairly well last year.

I'd like to hope that NBC will keep MNIE, The Office, and 30 Rock around next season in an attempt to build continuity. They will need to replace Scrubs already based on the talk about it being that show's last season, and I have no faith that they can develop more than one good sitcom a year based simply on the lack of success in the genre in general these last several years.

I really hope 30 Rock sticks around. It's one of my few favorite new shows.

Also, I hope this ep will chip away at everyone's habit of assuming Tracy Morgon is just a marginal 3rd Rung funny guy.

Loved this ep especially the scene when they showed Baldwin blundering all over his product placement video

This show, along with the Office, is quickly becoming one of the few shows I truly look forward to each week. I'm glad to see it being paired with The Office and Scrubs. It really deserves a wider audience.

This will really be "Must See TV" for me. My Tivo will be working overtime. I think Earl will be my weak link.

This show keeps getting better and better. Great to see. I wasn't so sure about Morgan, but he's been great. There was never any doubt that Baldwin would be anything less than gold.
