Thx egamipeaks for the update! It is a $20 off of $50 purchase rebate + free shipping at selected sites. Register below, by 11/22, with your paypal email, and details, as well as a merchant list will be available on 11/23...Rebate deal will run through 5/15/07. Note: this includes ebay as well(though not to personal accounts). Also note: limit 1 rebate per person + account, d'oh! However, the good news is that it looks like it will be automatic, you won't have to send anything in.

Edit: if you have concerns about whether it is a legit site, just go to paypal.com, the link there takes you to the same URL...

Make sure to read the fine print though. The $20 rebate will arrive in 6 to 8 weeks and there is only one rebate per account.

Can't use for personal exchanges among other members? Pretty much useless for me, that's all I ever use paypal for.

The promotion's fine print states that if you make a purchase on ebay "ebay payments made to personal accounts" are excluded from the rebate promotion.
I'm confused. If I purchase something from an ebay seller who accepts paypal, how do I tell if he has a personal account or not?

DVDMagic
11-19-06, 01:53 PM
if it's a personal account chances are if the seller is selling anything else then it'll be a mish mosh of stuff. There are sellers on there that have a store and usually sell related items only. At least that's how I take it to be

Personal accounts can not accept payments from a credit-card, so anyone on ebay who accepts credit-card payments via paypal probably has a business account.

Thanks OP, may have to pick up a new game with this deal.

I signed up for this promotion, but am now very reluctant to actually take advantage of it. After an incredibly frustrating week of attempting to deal with paypal's "customer service" department just trying to get a few answers to some pretty simple questions - and getting bizarre run-arounds from cr drones who hadn't seemed to even read or understood my emails - I'm fearful that too much could go wrong with a promised $20 rebate from these clowns. And I'm pretty much sure that if and when this deal goes wrong, it won't be fixed...

Paypal/eBay... is there any uglier company out there?

My rebate showed up today, they didn't even email a notice.

That makes Buffy the Chosen collection 63$ for me from Barnes and Noble..

Yes!!!! Just got mine too, making Superman Ultimate Collection $37 total from Barnes & Noble. I thought for sure this would drag out for weeks.

Ditto on that! GREAT deal!!! Although I still feel dumb that i forgot to sign up my other email address. I have 2 Paypal accounts (one free one, and one preferred)

I did sign up for this back in November, but I'm a little confused. Will ANY site that offers paypal as a payment option qualify for the rebate, or is it just from a selected list of retailers? If it's just select retailers, where is the list?

Thanks

I registered for this deal, but this still sounds incredibly vague to me. It's been very underpromoted and poorly described, and, in fact, I never even got a confirmation on my original registration - did anyone else?

Heres the website I signed up at:

I also never received a confirmation email that I was registered. I made a purchase at B&N so I'll be interested to see if I get my $20 credit.

Just to add to the confusion, I don't see ebay listed on the list of participating etailers, so are they still part of this deal?...

Yup. Got my $20 rebate. That makes my Superman set at BN.com about $30. Yah!

I got a rebate and I only used ebay. I know there were originally listed, so I'd think they'd still honor such purchases.
