De Niro & 50 Cent Team Up for New Orleans
Reading this may ruin your day. I think it is safe to say, this movie will not be added to my De Niro collection. Why Bob, why?

Robert De Niro and 50 Cent are in final talks to co-star in New Orleans, a police thriller set to be directed by Tim Hunter.
The film (previously titled "Microwave Park") centers on a cop who thinks his partner has died in Hurricane Katrina, only to discover that he was shot to death. When he gets a new partner, the pair investigates the murder, taking them on a journey into a world of police corruption.
De Niro is attached to play the lead with 50 Cent in the role of his new partner.
The project was originally set in Los Angeles but changed to New Orleans after the Katrina disaster. Production is tentatively scheduled to begin filming in the city in February.

I don't understand your problem with this.
First, how do you know the film will be crap...just because 50 Cent is in it?
Second...even if it does turn out to be crap...why would this film be any different from the rest of the crap he has appeared in over the past 15 years?

I'll probably see it if it looks to have a Training Day feel, but if it looks like an incarnation of all those shitty MGM police thrillers, then i'll skip it.

Why does De Niro feel the need to grow old disgracefully as opposed to gracefully? Here's a guy who's starred in some of the greatest ever films be in raging bull, the deer hunter, taxi driver, etc De niro's one of the few actors who actually CAN negotiate a fee, this guy must have AT LEAST $200 mill in his piggy bank by now. I can accept that he's a businessman but damn... why the hell does he insist on making such terrible films of late?!
Take Daniel Day Lewis, par example. Before Gangs of New York the guy was living in Italy, being a cobbler for christ's sake. He didn't act, he took a long break, and even though the film itself was pretty so-so, he put it an awesome performance - no doubt the lengthy lay-off (his decision) did him good. It rejuvenated him.
Bobby's a legend and always will be. I dont know why he just doesnt chill for a few years to enjoy his retirement and use some of his vast wealth to pay someone with real talent a couple of bucks to write another great hot role for him.
I'm so disappointed that DeNiro, one of my favorite actors of all time, keeps flushing away his credibility.. He's becoming the Dan Aykroyd of dramatic actors.. Taking any paycheck that comes his way. A new De Niro movie used to be an event. Now I don't even watch them all on DVD anymore. The last few were just so bad.. Pretty sad considering he was once the greatest in America.
Whatever happened to the Robert De Niro who said "The talent is in the choices"? Fifty Cent? What in the flying f***? This is gonna suck BIG TIME!
De Niro has to find another agent, the projects he has chosen recently are all crap!
Its a sad day for cinema when one of the greatest method actors ever has to share the screen with a no talent, ignorant rapper.
