I read John Sinnott's DVD review of Cracker - The Complete 1st Season at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=8172 and... I saw "Cracker" when it first appeared on A&E and was awed by the quality and depth of the program. Very few things make watching mainstream television worthwhile, but this is certainly one of those things! I never (no really!) post in forums or "talk-sites" but that series left such an impression, I felt I had to acknowledge your review and discovery of it... Cannot recommend it highly enough despite the technical "Wish they haddas." Am a recent Savant peruser and appreciate your thoughts and efforts.. "Keep up the good work!" <HM>... Some of my favorites include: Network, Bob Roberts, Local Hero, Chan Wook Parks "Revenge Trilogy" (Lady Vengeance being the "Coup de gras"), good Asian Horror/Psychological Thriller, bad "B" sci-fi, etc...

"Cracker" is a brilliant series. I'd also highly recommend the "Prime Suspect" series with Ellen Mirren.

Welcome to the forum DVDharv. I'm glad you enjoyed "Cracker" (and my review) and I agree it's a fantastic series. It was a blind review for me, I'd never heard of it when the discs arrived, but I was really impressed with the entire production.

This is slightly off-topic since it's not about the DVD, but BBC America is running the latest (and last) Cracker episode this week. It's not quite as good as the great early seasons, but of course still well worth checking out.

Apparently the final Prime Suspect (with Helen Mirren, btw) is coming up also. Ah well, we'll always have DVDs...
