Plato's Republic - anyone read it - need help!
I am reading it in Philosphy class, and it's friggin hard! My brain isn't digesting it - at all. I have to answer questions in an essay and I am having a hard time answering two;
How does Socrates use the Sun to indicate what he thinks the Good is
What is Socrates' explanation of the meaning of the Allegory of the Cave?
I have looked up the cliff notes on this book too, but they are just as confusing!!
I was able to answer the other questions, but these two having me writting in circles!
Please help me understand!! I feel like a dummy

While annotating my Lost clue notebook last week I ran across the Wikipedia article about the Allegory of the Cave. There's a lot of good information there that should help you out, including a link to another article about the metaphor of the Sun.
