I'm looking to buy 2 80GB Ipods. Are there any deals right now or should I wait until Black Friday?

It's very rare to find deals on iPods with the pricing controls that Apple puts on them. Your best bet is to use the Target 10% off coupon (check fatwallet.com or resellerratings.com). I really doubt BF will have ANY deals on iPod products.

If you wait a few months, you can get a quality refurb from Apple, and they usually have great pricing on refurbs.

I was looking for one myself. I ended up getting it from Costco. It is cheaper than most places ($339) and I am an executive member, so I get cash back from the purchase. And I paid with my cash back American Express card so I get even more cash back from that.

The only problem is that the local Costcos here only have the nano and the 30gb ones. I wanted to buy there, since they have a very good warranty protection but as of today, they haven't stocked the 80gb.

Also, check fatwallet to see if any coupons are available. I know there was a 20% one a little while back.

I was in FYE the other day and they had a clearance sale on iPods. Possibly not carrying them anymore. Not sure if it was just my store or a nationwide thing, but it looked like all were on clearance, the 60GB was $100 off.

Much better than 10% if you can forgoe that extra 20GBs.

Deals are slim on the ipods. I will end up using a double rewards points coupon with best buy sometime next week.

You could do much better on eBay or craigslist.

Id order online when possible to save tax (which here is 9%)... alot of online retailers will throw in freebies (FM adaptors, cases, etc) with a purchase

For now I am fine with my 60GB model which only ran me about $200

PC Connection (http://www.pcconnection.com/ProductDetail?Sku=7009817) has them for $349 with a $40 mail in rebate. I can't vouch for the store, though.

I can't vouch for PC Connection but I do use their "sister" site Gov Connection all the time to order computers for the company I work for.

I've bought multiple macs from Mac Connection and never had any issues.

Circuit City (http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/MP3-Players-iPods/sem/rpsm/catOid/-12952/N/20012898+20012952+40000769/link/ref/rpem/ccd/categorylist.do?WT.mc_n=293308&WT.mc_t=U&cm_ven=EMAIL&cm_cat=EPSILON&cm_pla=EMA_20061026-%3ES6AB&cm_ite=121764%20NEW%20IPODS%20ON%20SALE%20SAVE%205%&cm_keycode=293308) has them 5% off through Sat. Not much, but okay if you aren't a fan of rebates.

I bought my 30GB iPod from them earlier this year, no problems. Use coupon code "432732732" for free shipping according to dealnews.com.

if anyone here works for FedEx, we get some good deals on most apple products, including the 80gb iPod.

Yeah when you stuff it under your jacket and run it out to your car. ;)

Does anyone have a copy of rebate form from PCConnection? The link is broken on their web site:

Thanks. :)

I don't mind at all... but you're going to have to spot me $350 first though. ;)

Thanks for the link Rogue588. I guess the rebate looks legit but I'm buying one for my sister and though $40 is nice, I don't know about cutting up her iPod box before giving it to her. Maybe if I not only give her the iPod but also cover the UPC hole with 2 twenty dollar bills... ;)

This is my first iPod buying experience. Apple probably is pretty fixed on their pricing, right? I should probably not hold my breath for a drastic price cut for their latest models around the holidays... How common is a rebate for an iPod? I've never seen one before.

Amazon has their iPods on sale right now - looks like 5% for most models including the 80GB. Free shipping and no tax, too.

Those are some good deals (Amazon and Circuit City). After they stopped letting us use our 10% college discount on iPods (even though I graduated a few years ago), this has to be the next best deal. Both are $332.49...I see this Amazon credit card offer for an additional $30 off. Any reason not to do this?

Also, sell your old iPods on eBay or Craigslist. You will make a good amount back if it is in good condition etc.
