SRP: TBA

Further Details:
Lionsgate and THINKfilm has released details for the R rated penguin mockumentary Farce of the Penguins, which arrives on 30th January 2007. This title is narrated by Samuel L. Jackson with the voice talents of: Bob Saget, Christina Applegate, Lewis Black, Mo'Nique, Tracy Morgan, as well as: Jason Alexander, Jason Biggs, Dane Cook, Gilbert Gottfried, Norm MacDonald, Jamie Kennedy, Jon Lovitz, Adam Duritz, Carlos Mnecia, Jonathan Silverman, Dave Coulier, John Stamos, Abe Vigoda, Brie Larson, Harvey Fierstein and many more (check IMDb). The film will run for approximately 80 minutes with extra features that include: a director's commentary, bonus footage, behind-the-scenes montage, director featurette, trailer gallery and closed captions. A synopsis of what to expect follows with cover artwork.

"It's mating season... Meet Carl (Bob Saget) and Jimmy (Lewis Black), two cold penguins on a desperate mission to get themselves some hot booty. After years of empty one-night stands, Carl wants more than a piece of penguin tail. He wants the love of the beautiful Melissa (Christina Applegate). Now it's up to Jimmy to help his neurotic friend win her heart and find his dream girl. The only thing that stands in their way is... a seventy mile trek across Antarctica. It’s a road trip like no other, as these two best bros make their way to a penguin island paradise. From director and comedian Bob Saget comes a raunchy, yet heart-warming comedy like no other. Get ready for a stiff and dirty ride!"

Straight to DVD? Last I heard (a long time ago), I thought Saget was trying to get this in theaters.

I heard him talking about this one and it sounds really weird. I'm definitely picking it up.

I remember the same thing. Maybe...

1) Didn't want to compete directly with Happy Feet
2) Since it's coming to DVD first, hoping people will think they're buying Happy Feet.

If so, there will be some furious parents.

I just heard Bob talking about this, sounds pretty good. I've never seen his standup, but know it is raunchy, and hopefully this will be just as good.

BTW, he also mentioned he's going to be doing an HBO stand-up special.

March of the Penguins didnt touch my soul like 80% of the population acted like it was capable of doing to a viewer. It was just, meh, okay to me. I have ZERO desire to see Happy Feet. THIS however I will rent while drinking some alcohol..

Parody movie without Leslie Nielson or the Wayans? I'm in. Maybe this one will actually be funny.

I saw the trailer a while back. Initially I thought "Hey, this could be kind of funny"...after watching the trailer, it looks like it might be the least funny thing to come along since....well, the trailer for "Epic Movie", which wasn't that long ago, but still, it's hard to be as unfunny as the Epic Movie trailer.

Sounded funny, then I saw the trailer... Looks about stupid. They should have done a CGI film, might have been worth it then.

I might have agreed, but somebody needs to bring this penguin craze to a stop. For the love of God, somebody make it STOP. And this movie might do the trick, but Surf's Up is on the horizon.

This movie isn't funny. I had high hopes for it, but there are no memorable scenes (comedy). Even Tracy Morgan, who to me can recite the alphabet and make me laugh, wasn't given anything to work with.

Bob Saget is the Devil's excrement. The trailer depicted a bunch of sexually explicit comments on the level of a third grader's sense of humor dubbed over film of penguins.

This should have skipped DVD and gone straight to VHS.

So has anyone seen this yet? I am curious because we have it cheap at work, and it looks like it could be funny, or at least maybe a good rental.
