Costco Prices for the 3rd week of October - Omen Collection Special

I just came back from my nearby Costco and they had several good deals:

The Omen Collection - $19.99 ($29.99 - $10 instant rebate)
Fox Studio Classics Collection - $17.99
Big Love - $62.99
Reds - $12.99
X-Men Trilogy with bonus T-Shirt - $31.99
Over The Hedge with bonus Trivia Game DVD - $18.99
The Break-Up - $18.99
Get $3 off when you buy The Little Mermaid and a box of Bottled Kirkland Water

Great deal on the Omen Collection

Wow, that's a phenomenal deal on the Omen Collection. I was hoping they'd have it for around $29.99, so the $10 instant rebate is a nice unexpected bonus. Guess I'll be heading there tomorrow. Thanks for posting this!

So, what is in the Fox Studio Classics Collection?

Also, besides the first movie, are the other "Omen" films generally worth it?

Thanks!

The Studio Collection is probably this one (listed at Amazon.com @ $26.99)

Studio Classics - Best Picture Collection (Sunrise / How Green Was My Valley / Gentleman's Agreement / All About Eve) (1948)

I liked the 2nd and 3rd film in the franchise. The 4th was a joke. If I remember correctly, it was a made for tv movie or an hbo special (something like that), and the quality of it shows. I honestly enjoyed the 2nd film almost more than the first. Its really well made, and the story is great, plus it gives alot of background info. The 3rd is good in the sence that it rounds out the trilogy, with the 4th just being a "filler". For $20, its definetly worth it. I assume this is the same set that has been out for several years now. I got mine a long time ago on amazon for around $50.

Read the customer review at Amazon.

Only thing is, this is a four disc set which means that the new 2-DVD CE version of The Omen (released 6/20/06) surpasses the version in this set. However, good deal if you don't care about extras.

Are you talking about the new set that just came out this week or the first box set? The set this week is 6 disks...

But that is called The COMPLETE Omen Collection - including the 2006 remake. Is this one at Costco the 4 or 6 DVD set?

I'd be shocked if it wasn't the new 6-disc set which, according to this pic, is also called "The Omen Collection", not "The Complete Omen Collection".

BTW, I bought the 4-disc set at Costco when it first came out five years ago... but back then I actually paid $65.99 for it. This is much better!

Sorry for the confusion, but the Omen collection at Costco is new release that includes the 2 disc SE of the original Omen plus the 3 sequels and the new remake starring Julia Stiles.

Thanks for the info on the $10 instant rebate on The Omen. I saw the set at Costco but didn't know about the rebate as there were no signs.

I saw a big box of the 1st 3 seasons of Bewitched (seasons 1 and 2 colorized only boo!). Perhaps they will have a rebate when Season 4 is released. Price was under $25 per season, which is nothing special.

I just got mine, it rang up at $29.89, less the $10 instant rebate (with tax charged on the pre-rebate price). As mentioned, there were no signs about the rebate. I wouldn't have even known about it if it weren't for this thread.

Also, the Studio Classics Collection was priced at $16.99, and did indeed include the four titles CurtisRob mentioned in his post. Oh, and they also had Faerie Tale Theatre: The Complete Collection for only $19.99

There are rebate documents inside the dvd's. I found one in X-Men 3 and Thank You for Smoking. I'm sure there is one inside Omen too since it was part of the program.

That is a phenomanal price for The Omen set. I was just about to get this tonight at BB, but I'm glad now I waited to check DVDTalk. Going tomorrow if it is at $19.99. You can't beat 6 disks/4 movies for $20.

5 movies if you count the 2006 remake (which some may choose to ignore).

Wow. I'll be on that like stink on a monkey if they have that at my Costco. Awesome series and highly recommended if you haven't seen it.

I'll probably pick up The Omen Collection for that price, too.

EDIT: Picked up both collections. Very disappointed in the packaging of Faerie Tale Theatre. The discs are stacked on top of each other with a big spindle in the middle. Not cool. Anyway, thanks to the OP and Rob for the heads up!

As usual, Kirkland WA Costco was a little more--20.99 (30.99 - 10 rebate), rather than 19.99. Still a good deal so I picked it up, so thanks OP!

I've only ever seen the first Omen.

Can anyone with the new Omen set confirm if the Original has the slipcover? Also do the rest of the dvd's in the set have barcodes, or do they have them blanked out (wondering about trading a couple of titles in if I bought this set)

No slipcover on the 1976 version. The original and the remake have stickers over the barcodes. The others don't even have barcodes. Hope that helps.

Still sealed in plastic though? And the stickers over the plastic so easy to remove? Not asking for myself, but read this and firgured anyone with dupes would want clarity for trading/gift purposes.
