30 Rock - "The Aftermath" - 10/18/06

Spoiler:
Newly hired Tracy Jordan causes plenty of friction on “The Girlie Show” set: His larger-than-life persona pushes insecure star Jenna Maroney out of the limelight; he rubs writers the wrong way; and the meddling Donaghy will do anything to keep him happy, including changing the title of the show to “TGS with Tracy Jordan.” It's up to Liz to unite the crew and pull the show together, and she ends up getting help from a most unlikely source---Jordan himself.

Pretty funny at times, but the show still has room for improvement. This episode is a little more fun than the first. Baldwin, Morgan, and Krakowski all have good lines. Katie Bowden is hot.

That guy quizzing Alec kept holding up the same picture.

Where was that guy going with the cardboard Darth Vader stand-up?

The fancy liquor Tracy gave Twofer on the boat was just a $30 fifth of Pinch.

It's silly and zany, I'll give it another 2 weeks to see if they find a rhythm now that they have sort of ingratiated Tracy Jordan in with the rest of the cast and crew.

I liked the pilot much better than this one. Not as many laughs for me.

Why is this show so dark? Even when they were indoors in an office, it looked so dark.

It kept me smiling, with a few laugh-out-loud moments - I'll definitely stick with this one.

I'll continue to stick with it as well. Worth watching for Baldwin's scenes alone.

I liked it just as much as the pilot. When Tracy Jordan was being too normal and well-behaved on the yacht, you knew that he didn't own it. I was half-expecting Lemon to open a door and find the real owners tied up.

Alec Baldwin is such a natural comedic actor, I wonder what would've happened if he'd gone that route early in his career.

This show isn't doing it for me, except for Tracy Morgan. I can't imagine how bad it would be if he weren't on the show. Shooting the promos was great.

"Hi, I'm Tracy Jordan. I'm black, NBC. Very proud, like peacocks. Right, Janet?"

I thought this was funnier than last week.

Krakowski is most certainly the weak link of this show...

Its funny because the conversation between Liz and the lead actress is probably the exact same conversation that Fey had to have with Rachel Dratch when she was cut from the show.

That was the line that had me laughing out loud. That and the 'injecting chicken nuggets' line from last week are enough for me to stay tuned. Tracy Morgan is hysterical, he was underused on SNL.

Overnights say the ratings were down 21% from last week. And last week was already pretty low. Link
