I'm looking for to find a list of various restaurants and the type of cuisine that they serve. I'll be making a trip to Vegas this weekend with a first timer and thought it would be nice to have a bite while catching the fountain show.

I know the Bellagio has one right outside there. You can also do the one ontop of the mini-Eiffel tower at the Paris.

Circo (inside Bellagio) has a decent view. Food's decent as well.

Ended up making reservations at Olives in the Bellagio. I wasn't able to reserve a table in the patio area outside, but hopefully I can talk the hostess (read:bribe) into giving me a table out there.
Has anyone ever had dinner there? If so, comments?

The fountain is a lot more fun WITH the music. So if you're inside, then you only get a limited experience since you can barely hear the music. I highly suggest the patio sitting if at all possible (read: bribe a LOT).
I never ate at Olives so I can't comment on the food. My friend that I go to Vegas with is a semi-high roller so we always get a room near the elevator with the view of the fountains and all of our food is comped, meaning we'll eat at the more expensive restaurants like Circo or Prime or Cirque. One trip, we stayed 3 nights and rang up a food bill of ~$1,000 of which we only paid ~$200 for tips. Yeah, I know, I've been spoiled.

i wanted to but we should have made reservations much earlier (it was at a busy time...i think around christmas). oddly enough, to make reservations (tell me if this is still true) you have to call a totally different number, whcih i thought was a little strange and inefficient.

The number that I used was pulled from the Bellagio website (877) 2-Dine-LV. It did sound like it was something not directly associated with the hotel.

Not much. Maybe $200? The host said that they normally don't comp drinks but they'll do it for us this time since my friend played a LOT that trip.

so the rest (~$800) was for food for two people? or was that for multiple meals?

We stayed three nights. We had 2 meals at the Bellagio & 1 meal at NYNY (MGM affiliated casinos).

Just got back into town today. Had a great trip as usual, except I wasn't able to play much poker and pay for the trip as I typically do.
We did manage to have a drink at the Fontana Bar and dinner at Olives in the Bellagio. A bit of a wait for both, but I definitely thought it was worth it!
Here are two pictures that I took from the patios.
