THE MARINE-- starring John Cena
Is anyone promoting this movie except during WWE programming? If not, why didn't they just send it straight to cable/DVD?

I've seen it outside of wrestling as well.
It looks like typical direct to video stuff. I'm surprised it's getting a theatrical release.
And forgive my lack of wrestling knowledge but is John Cena a WWE wrestler?

I never heard of him either but figured he was a wrestler when the trailer had a big WWE FIlms logo at the start. Despite the crappy CG fireballs, it looks like fun if only to see Robert Patrick as the villain (I hope he gets a lot of screentime).

I am actually looking forward to this movie. Like UAIOE said, it looks like a great 80's direct to video action movie (with a better budget). I grew up on stuff like that and I hope it can capture the fun and flavor of a good B movie.
I saw the trailer in front of Crank, but have seen no TV promotion for it (but I don't watch wrestling)

I've liked WWE in the past, but I'm not much of a Cena fan. Still curious to see how this is since it does look like it could be a fun popcorn movie.
I did just get the Cena DVD for free with SummerSlam at CC so I need to watch that.

I saw the trailer for this as well. Looks like mindless, stupid fun. I will check this out for sure when it comes to DVD. But I have to say that the poster is awful. One of the worst I've seen in a while.

I saw the poster at the movie theater a few weeks ago from far away, and the first things I thought of were "When did Matt Damon get so ripped?" and "When did they make another Bourne sequel?"

This movie seems like some good B quality level entertainment, it sort of makes me wonder why the studio didn't take a different approach with the movie. It seems like there only targeting a very specific audience. I'm guessing seeing the WWE logo before the trailer will only turn away more viewers than attract.

While I doubt I'll see the movie, I don't think anyone has a right to come out griping if it winds up sucking. It is a mindless action movie that stars a WWE wrestler and is made by the WWE. This is not going to be anything masterful.

I saw an ad for this on Spike last night, which I thought was weird, cause I saw the book just the other day. I commented on how funny it was that the WWE was in the book business...guess now they are in the film business, too.

Here is the trailer for those interested. Looks like Robert Patrick has let himself go.

I dunno if it can compete with the current king of action movie comedy (Commando) but i'm eager to find out.
That "steam" line in "Commando" makes me laugh almost as much as the head explosion in "Total Recall".
