eBay Sub to Time?

So I bought a cheap sub to Time a while back off of ebay. I've been getting the mag fine, but recently got a card saying if I didn't cancel by Oct 3, I would be charged for an auto renewal which was full pop.

I called and got an automated system which gave me the opportunity to "keep" getting the mag thru Oct 3, which I did, but now I'm wondering if I've really canceled?

Also, my label says the sub is good thru Dec 06, so why are they asking me to cancel now?

Did you ever provide your credit card number to the eBay seller or Time directly?No, I don't think so. I always use PayPal. It's been several months so I'm not 100% sure.

Could they charge my PayPal account?
