The preview for this episode makes it look over the top.

Spoiler:
Not necessarily the fallout... more the freaking prisioners attacking the town... Maybe TOO over the top for me... I'll watch tonight and then maybe drop it if it doesn't improve.

The pilot was kinda all over the place. I'm going to give it two more weeks before i kill it from my dvr. I'm hoping that it actually starts to focus on fewer characters so that its more watchable (for me).

I really hope we find out what was written on the piece of paper before this episode ends.

We won't.

And I'm glad to see that the cop from St Louis

Glad to see that stupid theory put to rest.

The characters in the show are so cliche it hurts to watch.

That and the ending of this episode removed all the tension it had (aka, what really happened). Lame.

How do we know that he isn't a convict? Just because he was reunited with wife and kids doesn't necessarily mean he wasn't a convict. I hope he isn't but unless I missed something, we can't rule it out for sure yet.

So we find out that most of the US was hit.

How did he know to put all those pushpins on the map as cities hit by nukes?

Ashley Scott looks great with the long blonde hair, but this show is bit on the drab side due to the characters being duller than dirt.

What else could they be? We know Denver and Atlanta are gone and he put pins over those.

Of course it kept showing him getting more pins and not showing where they went and we didn't get a final look at the board so we have no idea where else got it.

Anyone know morse code? What was the message on the radio?

Boy tells girl to avoid radiation fallout.
Girl tells boy he can't tell her what to do.
Boy gives girl can of Diet soda.
Girl falls in love with boy.

A tale as old as time...

I'm fairly certain he was writing down the names of the cities from the morse code.

He knew where to put the pins because that was the morse code he got from the radio. It was a list of cities that had been hit by nukes.

That shootout was laughably bad. Other than that, decent ep.

I hope that's the end of the convict thing. I think they are trying to copy Lost a bit too much with A) Not knowing if they are the only people left in the world and B) Everybody having a dark, mysterious past.

I dig the show but the gunfight at the OK Corral was a bit much.

The nerd is pretty street smart. The hot popular chick is probably a virgin and she'll want do the nasty before the end of the world.

It is only the 2nd episode.

I wouldn't say everyone, just two of the characters we've seen. Skeet and the black guy. I'm not sure the black guy is that mysterious. Where he comes from has been consisitant and I'm betting that he didn't tell the others about the radio because you know there would be mass panic if people know how many cities were hit. Other than those two, everyone else seems to be who they seem to be.

As for the map, it sounded like he was picking up multiple pins at once so there could be dozens of cities gone. Didn't it also fade to black while he was still getting pins.

I'll give it a few more weeks, but I am decidedly underwhelmed.

And ... why do I think the radioactive cloud (hell, that sounds like a bad 50's sci-fi movie!) is setting us up for some potential "freak of the week" episodes a la Smallville.

My biggest problem with this show is the writing. Both the characters and the dialouge are cliches of cliches. It's awful. But I still want to know what happens... maybe I should just read synopsis after each episode.

That was rather dull.

The convicts part was boring me to tears. How did she not know something was up when the cops had no idea where the nearest gas station was?

An OK episode.

Spoiler:
So if next week is right, they are going to send people out in all directions to find information and if they are at war. I'm already at a loss as to how they can continue this story line after that.
