Recommend me some 50's/60's Horror films
I'm trying to get together a list of horror films (for the October Halloween Film challenge) that were made in the 50's/60's - specifically those that might exist as double feature DVD's. If there are some films that have not been released on DVD but are available on VHS - that's fine as well.

I guess this would be a start:

If you're into giant mutant insects, Them! is a must. Not only is it fun but has one helluva transfer. I believe it's available as a double-bill with The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms (which is another fav of mine).

Diabolique
Psycho
Horrors of the Black Museum
Circus of Horros
Peeping Tom
All the Mario Bava films from the 60s
The fifties were a lowpoint as far as horror films go... possibly the worst decade ever for horror films right there with the 90s.

CARNIVAL OF SOULS is one of my personal all-time favorites. I'm sorry that you don't appreciate it, but many people do.
On a more constructive note, may I recommend...
THE HAUNTING
CURSE OF THE DEMON (UK: NIGHT OF THE DEMON)
NIGHT OF THE EAGLE (US: BURN, WITCH, BURN--available in the UK in a three disc set from Warner along with Roger Corman's MASQUE OF THE RED DEATH [also worthwhile] and ZOLTAN, HOUND OF DRACULA [wouldn't you just love to know how they came up with that marketing combination?!])
Best,

If you want double-features, you should scoop up as many of the MGM Midnight Movies as you can handle. The Vincent Price stuff is some of the greatest horror of the 60's, and it's all pretty cheap. The recent 8-movie Hammer set is a lot of quality horror for a low price.

I'm being lazy here, but what are the Midnight Movie double features that are available?

There's always the Creature from the black lagoon. It's a shame Netflix doesn't offer most of the above double features in that format, but I guess it equals less business for them?
