Happy Hour, Justice put on hiatus
From FutonCritic:
So, if I'm reading this right, there is no Happy Hour this week, and no Justice next week, correct? The thing that confuses me about Justice is that last week's preview was about a boy who was nailed to a cross, and they thought the father did it. I just saw a preview and it was about a totally different case. I wonder what caused that change.
FOX to Give 'Happy Hour,' 'Justice' Early Exits
By Brian Ford Sullivan (TFC)
LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- As part of a flurry of last-minute scheduling changes, FOX has placed its freshman comedy "Happy Hour" on hiatus until after its October baseball coverage. New episodes then are expected to resume on Thursday, November 2 at 8:30/7:30c.
Repeats of "'Til Death" will instead fill in for the show's previously announced broadcasts before the baseball break - Thursday, September 28 at 8:30/7:30c ("The Ring and I," a new episode of "Happy") and Sunday, October 1 at 7:30/6:30c (a repeat of "Happy's" pilot).
Also getting an early exit: fellow newbie "Justice." The show's October 4 airing has been bumped in favor of a repeat of "House" that night at 9:00/8:00c. Said development makes its September 27 broadcast its last new installment before its baseball-induced hiatus. To soften the blow however FOX has added a repeat of "Justice's" pilot on Friday, September 29 at 8:00/7:00c, trimming the previously-planned two-hour season finale of "Celebrity Duets" to just one hour in the process.
The news comes as both series hit ratings lows against its "premiere week" competition. So far this season (based on fast national numbers), "Happy" is down 34.78% in households and 32% in adults 18-49 from its premiere while "Justice" is off 37.29% in households and 36.67% in adults 18-49 from its bow.

Rather than wasting more Justice episodes, it's probably best that they wait until November to bring it back.

FOX is probably paying Bruckheimer a crap load of $$$$ for that show, I think they will try to find a way to keep it on the air.

For me, this is probably a good thing. Justice is one of those shows that isn't really that good but is charming enough that I'd keep watching it for years if they didn't forcibly take it from me.

As it's not a real "hiatis", this topic's title is very misleading.

Justice is only having one airing pulled, and that's the airing that would have gone up against the season premiere of Lost. why put up a show to get killed in the ratings, when the show won't be back for a month? Since Lost is going away in mid-november for a hiatis of its own, FOX would probably rather compete against Day Break.

If they cancel Justice and let Standoff and Vanished continue, I'll be seriously pissed off...they've got Justice on the WRONG NIGHT dammit...match it with House or even Prison Break and it'd be doing much better...

Yeah, when Fox pulls new episodes in place of reruns of something else it is never a good sign. Arrested Development and Kitchen Confidential immediately come to mind. Sure you can argue they're avoiding Lost or whatever, but eventually that show is going to have to face the music.
I'm predicting if the show doesn't get cancelled outight, it will eventually get moved to the Friday Fox death slot instead of Bones in January when the Idol schedule starts back up.

I liked Happy Hours because Beth Lacke has awesome hair, and isn't a skinny stringbean blonde, she's got curves and her character has a sarcastic wit about her.
