No, this isn't a parody thread of the hockey thread. I'm being serious.
I currently have NBA Live preordered and paid for, but am not 100% sold on the game. What all have you seen, and what has influenced your decision?

For the 360, NBA 2K7 seems pretty good. IT seems very similiar to last years game, which is not a bad thing. Graphics seem "shinier", gameplay is the same, which I enjoy, since I though 2K6 was a GREAT game.

FWIW, the 2K7 demo is up. I've played it for a while, but since I have no idea about the controls and haven't played any other bball games, I tend to rely on my three point shots.

I usually prefer the 2k hoops games. I used to be a huge NBA Live guy, but I haven't seem them do anything special in years. I just hope that EA doesn't get the exclusive rights to NBA licensing.

Truthfully, this decision would normally be easy (buy 2K7 and rent Live), except that the franchise mode in Live sounds amazing.
The fact that almost all of Live's 15 achievements (360) are based around the stupid superstar moves leads me to believe they're not focused on making a truly great basketball game, and are more concerned with flashy moves.

Look for a Developer's Blog for NBA Live 2007. The franchise mode has a rumor mill based off of ESPN Insider, an assistant general manager who handles things like that, team chemistry, and more.
Still haven't decided which game to keep. Guess I need to make a decision by the weekend in order to change my preorder if necessary. Has anyone seen any information about 2K7's franchise mode? It's been virtually the same (and had a horrible, horrible interface) for the past 2-3 years.

I've actually just made my decision...I'm going to buy NBA 2K7 and rent Live 2007 through Gameznflicks. NBA 2K7 has online leagues.

IGN just put up the review for 2K7, and gave it an 8.3...the 'alternate perspective' or whatever said it was one of the best sports games ever, though. Intersante.

I played the demo for 2K7 over the weekend. It's pretty sweet. Sucks it only gives you one quarter!
Question.. The controls didn't say anything about doing any moves (crossover, etc). Is there a way to do more then just dribble around?

I'm still undecided. I always liked 2K series, but they are basically just roster updats lately.
The demo for 2K7 was good...graphics were slightly improved. Nothing really seemed "new" though. Not a BIG deal, since it's a great game as I said earlier.

Ok, maybe I'm wrong then....maybe it was back and forth on the left stick then. I have to have the game in front of me. Not sure if there is a modifier in 2K7...like the Left Trigger.
I wish EA would put a demo up....unless they don't have faith in their game again.

I would just like to note that 2K6 is still my favorite sports game of all time. That game was so deep. Even now I play it regularly. That game was way too slept on.
