The Reds are asking for volunteers to come to Great American Ball Park to act as fans to be evacuated after a simulated attack. In appreciation for your attendance the Reds will provide each participant with a voucher for two tickets to a future baseball game in the 2007 season as well as other promotional items.

Sounds like this one is about a month too late, they actually had a shot then.

The tix are for a game next season.

I'm curious about it and think I will be there on Sept 30.

I think I might go as well, and it even looks like I'll be home before my wife wakes up.

Sounds interesting, but I'll actually be in Chicago if it's the 30th. I'm not a big baseball fan anymore, but when I was into it, I was a Red's fan, and I'd still like to go to a game one day.

Bumped as a reminder about tomorrow morning. A co-worker's wife is a nurse, and she said that some volunteers will be taken to at least one area hospital as part of the drill. They don't expect that part of the drill to finish before 3:00 P.M.

I am going to refuse treatment at the scene. ;)

On the whole, a rather boring experience. Ticket vouchers were handed out at the door, which means you could have turned around and gone home without taking part in the drill. They were also handing out leftover promotional items like Reds/John Deere caps, bobbleheads, and 2005 team photos with coupons that expired nine months ago. We got there at 8:00 and were out by 9:15. Some images:

As you can see, Reds terror drills draw larger crowds than Marlins home games.

The "contaminated" section. These people brought a change of clothes so that area hospitals and HAZMAT teams could practice decontaminating them.

An orderly evacation. Of course, Reds fans are accustomed to disasters occurring at this stadium.
