You can only have 10 DVD's movie singles!

You can only have 10 DVD's movie singles!

Now that I've got your attention ... IF you could only have 10 DVD's movie singles what 10 would they be? Single movie DVD's not box sets or multi movie disc ... no cheating. One movie per disc. What is your recommendation for this list?

I'm interested to know what your list might be, for me it's a tough call. I'll reserve my list for later, soon as I figure out what it is.

That's ok, it's in the wrong forum anyway, and the thread title is just barely comprehensible.

With all your restrictions, this just becomes a "10 favorite movies" list instead of 10 favorite dvds, so why not ask it in the movies section?

Anyways, in no order -

Godfather 1
Apocalypse Now
Seven Samurai
Brazil
Treasure of Sierra Madre
Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie
Black Narcissus
Once Upon A Time In The West
Monty Python & The Holy Grail
Raiders of the Lost Ark

"Now that I got your attention ..." seem to have worked. LOL Sort of a made you look.

It is recommendation, so I thought this was the right forum, if not I'm sorry.

This might be a little different. Some DVDers could be horror nuts, others psych-thriller fiends - yet, they might not want to have 10 of the exact same genre if only allocated 10 DVDs. I'm speaking purely for myself, but if I can only have 10 DVDs, I'd want a bit of variety. Course, some people's top 10 favorite movies lists might take that into account, but whatever. Here's mine in no particular order, I think:

Memento
Batman Begins
Oldboy
Spirited Away
Ghostbusters I
Fight Club
Star Wars Episode IV
Jet Li's Hero
Chasing Amy
Almost Famous

so this is pretty much the "10 movies on a desert island" question... ok:

Jaws
The Big Lebowski
Garden State
The Jerk
Goodfellas
The Empire Strikes Back
Kill Bill Vol. 2
Rear Window
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
Borat: Cultural Learnings From America For Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (I know this one is a bit of a cheat since it's not on DVD, but it would easily make my top 10 once it's on dvd).

I don't see why this was moved. The question was about DVDs, so won't extras play into the decision?
