Goodbye, social life
In the mail today:
PSX memory card
Final Fantasy 7 (3 discs)
Final Fantasy 8 (4 discs)
Legend of Dragoon (4 discs)
RPG's are great for playing on the PS2 while on the treadmill (not as much precision jumping/actions). Ironic, I'll get in great shape and yet never leave the house to show it off.
Oh well.

Nice. Dragoon is still one of my favorite RPG's of all time. That one will be a bit more difficult while on a treadmill because of the button presses needed for the fighting.

Ha ha, thanks. Running is tough, but speed walking (about 3.5-3.7 miles per hour) at a good 8-9% incline is good for about 750 calories an hour. Not too shabby, considering how many hours I'd waste sitting on my ass playing those games. Oh yeah, and a logitech wireless controller is a must.
Glad to hear the good words about Dragoon too, that was the one I'd never seen or played.

You know, they need a game that actually works with your treadmill. As you run, it shows your avatar running around in a variety of cool environments. You can run by other players who are using the game online. They could call the game "Running Outside".

I know that was sarcastic Groucho, but there actually was a treadmill-type accessory that worked with video games, I believe with PC FPSes. It was rather big and quite expensive, and I don't know if it ever got out of prototype, but it was an interesting concept.http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...011802439.html
ah it was Gamerunner

BTW, that wasn't intended as a slam on anybody just as a parody on all the "life simulation" games that are out there. Deer hunting, dating, cooking, etc.

plus, depending on where you live, you have to deal with bugs, barking/biting dogs, poor running surface, and in most of the south, blazing heat most of the year. And when I do run or walk, I like to run or walk 'to' or 'from' somewhere [I used to laugh in college, at the sorority bowheads doing their power walking down Frat Row, then running to catch the bus to go to class, which was *closer* than their total walking distance].
I agree, running is boring; we have a treadmill, but have never used it, but I used to use one of those healthrider things while watching a DVD. Treadmill + wireless controller is actually a very good idea.

I finished FF7 back in the day; even leveled up to the point I had a couple Knights of the Round materia and I could beat Emerald and Ruby Weapons...hate to think what I'd look like now if I'd spent all that time working out too instead of just sitting on the couch.
