Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon 2006

Anyone watching? I am. Jerry looks older, but better health wise, if that makes sense. Here in LA its on ch 9, and when they go to it locally, they have that Jackie Johnson weathergirl. She looks great.

It's ain't Labor Day until I see Jerrelah 'accidentally' stick the microphone in his mouth while bellowing like a sea lion......

You know why I hate the Jerry Lewis Telethon? Because every year it interferes with a huge day of U.S. Open tennis. It is shown on CBS here in my area, and that's the same channel that on the weekends and Labord Day takes over the U.S. Open coverage for the afternoon. So while all the big players are competing live, we aren't able to see a thing. Ugh!

The worst was the year that Connors made his big run to the semifinals. He played a now-legendary match against Aaron Krickstein on a Labor Day afternoon, and I, someone who as a young tennis player at that time idolized Connors, wasn't able to share in that experience.

The telethon used to be a good source of entertainment, I don't know, something just happened and it got totally bad.

Anyone know who the guy was late Sunday night that was doing impressions of John Madden, George Bush and Robin Williams? He was pretty good.

I didn't see Jerry at all yesterday, then Monday afternoon he was on there a lot...

It was on 2 channels here this year, local and not-so-local. But while one was on the national broadcast, the other was on the 'local'... ??? Shouldn't they both be on the national at the same time?

And how much was the final total???

I missed it. Also is there a video of the ending of the show? I like how he gets emotional every year.
