Walgreens double-feature $1 DVDs

I just returned from the local Walgreens and notice a new series of double-feature DVDs for $1. Most of them were standard PD fare, but one disc caught my eye...
BMX Bandits (1983) / Evel Knievel (1971)

Evel Knievel is easy enough to find, but this is the first time that I've seen BMX Bandits on disc. The quality is slightly above the typical $1 disc and is most certainly worth picking up for anyone who is interesting in seeing it.

I bought BMX Bandits DVD by Digiview back in January at the dollar store. Great movie.

DVD Profiler lists Australia region 4 and UK region 2 versions of this movie as anamorphic widescreen, but the US versions are fullscreen.

cardboard, most of these are public domain and really on such horrible transfers they're not worth the dollar/gas.

I generally agree. However, occasionally there is a gem (LAST MAN ON EARTH @ Target's $1 Spot) whose quality surpasses the more expensive "bargain" discs.

BMX Bandits isn't that bad... better than the digiview stuff that I've seen.

So Target has Last Man on Earth for 1 dollar? Their website lists 3 different versions of it, but the cheapest one is 4.99

After reading about it, I really want to buy it.

It's half of a buck-ninety-six twofer at WalMart:

What's with that url?

If that that's a reference to the Diamond Entertainment HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL/LAST MAN ON EARTH double-feature... don't bother. I have it. Not only is it fullscreen (instead of original widescreen), but it is sub-VHS quality.... I was happy to have it 5-6 years ago, but it doesn't compare to the single $1.

OK, so when I was in Walgreens over the weekend I remembered to look for and picked up BMX Bandits/Evel Knievel for $1.
BMX Bandits wasn't too bad, probably worth the 50¢. It's hard to believe that 15/16 year old grew up to be Nicole Kidman though. Seeing it in anamorphic widescreen would be interesting, but only if it's again for 50¢!

(I'll be saving Evel Knievel starring George Hamilton to watch sometime in the far distant future.)
