How many total movies have YOU seen??

I'm sure there has been a thread like this before but I thought I would make a new one.

I'm curious to see how many movies everyone has seen. So please post your IMDB totals here. I say IMDB because I figure this is the best way to track how many you have seen.

This does NOT include TV Shows. So if you have The Simpsons rated as a '9' on your IMDB Vote History, please don't count it. And this does not include movies that you have not seen in it's entirity. If you've seen most of a movie but missed 15-20 minutes in the middle, it does NOT count. Also, 5 minute Disney cartoons do not count either.

This does include short films, animated shorts, made-for-TV films, documentaries, feature length films and TV mini-series'.

That being said, my IMDB vote history is at 3224 .

Sorry, I guess I figured everyone was like me and kept a running total on IMDB. Once I see a movie, I go to IMDB and vote on it. Then check my vote history.

According to Netflix I have rated 3745 DVDs, since that doesn't include nonR1 DVDs nor movies that aren't on DVD at all (although it does also include TV shows for example, as does IMDB so I'm not sure if we're counting those or not) my answer would be... not enough considering the number that are still out there unseen

Well, I've watched 457 since I started keeping track at DVDSpot about 2 1/2 years ago. I've rated 589 at Netflix, but most of those are also from the last 2 - 3 years. (A handful are TV series, but I can't be bothered to sort those out - subtract ~30 if you like.) I'm 42, but since joining Netflix I see more movies in a week than I used to in a month. I'm sure I've seen well over 1000 lifetime, and probably over 2000, but I have no real idea.

Now that I think about it, I'm forgetting all the movies I used to watch on TV. I may have grossly underestimated the total number.

I couldn't even imagine the number. I've been a movie geek pretty much all of my life though so it's gotta be way up there.

Born in the late '60's, I've spent most of my sedentary life in front of the television. I couldn't even hazard a guess.

I don't have the time to try to figure out a true total, but out of curiosity I ran through boxofficemojo's top grossing lists from 1980 to present. Out of the 2,250 movies listed, I've seen 882. Factoring in tv miniseries & movies, shorts, pre-1980 movies and films with low box office takes, I'd guess the actual number would be between 3 and 4 times that.
