DVD Talk review of 'Warlock Moon'
I read Bill Gibron's DVD review of Warlock Moon at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=13366 and...well - I was one of the people that made this movie. The location - which I agree was superb - wasnt actually an old spa at all - but a decaying TB hospital south of Livermore, California - to the extent we made it look like a 30s hotel was all up to my friend Rand Herbert and I - as set designers and all around grunt labor - and the cinematography of Larry Secrist - not to mention Bill Herbert's director's eye. One thing you might want to keep in mind was - the film was basically made for $25,000 - so actually showing the murders was a little beyond our budget, not to mention technical expertise (it was everyone's first feature film , except for Larry and a few of the actors) A lot of what you say is true - but given that context, I think even more slack should be cut for this film. (I'd be happy to chat about it if you want - email me at [email protected]
