Incubus- Light Grenades (new album out in November)
From a fanclub e-mail I just received.
Looking forward to it, all their albums have been great IMO.
INCUBUS IS SET TO RELEASE LIGHT GRENADES THIS FALL
AND TO PERFORM ON VH1's DECADES LIVE WITH THE PRETENDERS AUGUST 11!
Incubus is gearing up to release their fifth studio album Light Grenades this November. The highly anticipated new album - which was produced by renowned producer Brendan O'Brien (Pearl Jam, Bob Dylan, Korn) - is a mix of hard rocking songs and sublime ballads recorded over the last year in both Los Angeles and Atlanta. This is Incubus' first new music since A Crow Left of the Murder which spawned the hit "Megalomaniac." Light Grenades is planned for release in November, 2006.
"It kicks, it bites, it loves, it hurts. It's the closest we've ever come to being the band we want to be,"
says singer Brandon Boyd.
To get things started, Incubus hits the New York area this Friday, August 11th, when the band takes the stage in Atlantic City as special guest performers on VH1's Decades Rock Live honoring The Pretenders. The band will join a lineup of extremely talented musicians such as Iggy Pop, Garbage's Shirley Manson, and Nashville's Kings of Leon to pay tribute to The Pretenders' most famous tunes. The concert will air in the fall.

I fell out of this band after Science. That was my favorite album, nothing else really caught my ear. I would see them live again, though. Definately a great live group.

Great news . They are in my Top 5 in terms of favorite bands and I have enjoyed everyone one of there studio efforts. Unfortunately I have yet to see them live so Ill be waiting to hear news on a US Tour so I can check them out.

Though I'm more a fan of their older stuff, they do put on a great show, and usually play lots of stuff off all the albums, definitely worth seeing.

Really liking this album a lot... it takes a few listens to grow on you, but it's a solid Incubus record. Woofman, you should have got both - that's what I did!

I'm liking it so far. I'd probably rank it right in the middle of their albums at this point. Behind Make Yourself and Morning View but a little ahead of A Crow Left of the Murder and WAY ahead of SCIENCE.
The standout songs so far......
A Kiss To Send Us Off
Dig
Anna Molly
Light Grenades
Diamonds and Coal
Pendulous Threads

I've gave it a few listens, though not a careful full listen yet--mostly while driving or working.
I like it a lot, another solid effort from Incubus.
Some songs sound a bit more like their earlier stuff.
In all I don't see myself liking it more than Crow, which is probably my favorite of theirs, but it is a very good album.

After several listens. I love the album. Can't rank it yet, definitely below Crow though.
The whole albums is solid, except for two tracks--Dig and Diamonds and Coal. Those two just suck. Sappy, poppy songs, among the worst Incubus has recorded IMO.
The standout tracks in no particular order are:
Anna Molly
Pendulous Threads
Rogues
Kiss to Send us Off
Light Grenades
