OMG, the Devil almost got me!

I had my speakers turned up pretty far, and I almost soiled myself when that damn Devil/Angel smilie banner kicked in. And then it just keeps going, and going. A mute button should just be mandatory for ads with sound.

How bout no ads with sound period? If I have to put up with that shit I'll be visiting this site a lot less often.

That would be even better. I often wonder who these kinds of ads are meant to attract. Seeing an ad with annoying flash or sound makes me want to buy whatever they're selling less than I already do.

Have to agree, the two mouseover talking smiley ads are annoying as hell.

Seriously, this is getting old. I'd rather pay some money to get rid of all the ads.

That was the plan a few years ago but who knows whatever happened to that idea.

I had my speakers on really low last night....thought my neighbor was being murdered...very slowly...and screaming only every few seconds.

IIRC Paypal wouldn't allow Geoff to set up an account since there are adult reviews on the site. I still find it odd that sites created to download bootleg movies and software can receive donations through Paypal but if you show some tits you're banned

Since that's the easiest way for people to contribute, I think Geoff gave up on the idea.

Wouldn't a solution just be to split the reviews and adult forum off to a different URL (say www.adultdvdtalk.com)?

Then he could run more adult advertising there (and make more money) and solve the paypal issue and make more money on dvdtalk.com.

I can see the appeal in keeping it all unified though. But the ads with sound have to go the way of the pop ups and pop unders he so graciously got rid of for us.

Didn't that already happen years and years ago?

I dont' recall it every being on a seperate URL and there being no links to it, the reviews etc. on dvdtalk.com, which is what it would take to appease paypal.

No, what I'm saying is, there already IS an adultdvdtalk.com, and I thought that it spun off from DVDtalk eons ago.

Ah. No idea, I see there is a site at that address, but I kind of doubt Goeff is affiliated with that.

If he is, then it seems silly to keep adult content here and create the paypal issues etc.

titstalk.com has a nicer ring to it.

Or sugartitstalk.com, even.

Apparently today was the first day I visited the site with my speakers on, and that damn ad almost made me crap myself. Not cool.

Those ads make me wish that *I* had a scab on my nutsack to alleviate the pain of those damn mouseover sounds.

There are some ads that affect my back and forward buttons too...

Occasionally I get screeched at when I hit the forementioned buttons, which tends to both surprise me and piss me off.

First time I heard it. I was trying to figure out why David Bowie was laughing in the middle of my tune.
