Brother-in-Law of Chucky...?
ok that was a joke title I just made up, but seriously has anybody heard anything about a new Chucky flick? Don Mancini said on the commentary for "seed" that one would be coming...

The last one didn't do so well at the box office, but that hasn't stopped franchises before. I actually hope they cut back on the campy approach if they continue the franchise. They struck a nice balance for Bride of Chucky, but they veered so far on the camp side for Seed that there's really nowhere left to go.

Seed really underperformed at the box office. They were expecting it to revitalize the series, but a november release date, as well as verring too far into parody and making Chucky a supporting character instead of the STAR left a lot of fans pissed off. I thought Seed was entertaining, but not nearly as entertaining as Bride.
I agree, I'd love to see a straight up horror Chucky flick again...they claim that in this day and age, people can't take a killer doll seriously, which is why they've gone to comedy, but I think they're wrong...Chucky is still fucking scary. If they did it for a small budget, with video sales it'd turn a profit - so you never know. Just don't let Don Mancini direct it, because IMO, he did a terrible job with Seed...in the hands of Ronny Yu, that movie could have been gold.

I didn't like Seed at all. A scarier Chucky is the way they need to go. The first 3 movies were great. After that, it went pretty far downhill.
