"Them!/The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms" (Aug. 22) DVD specs?

I see that a DVD double-feature of "Them!/The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms" is slated for release on Aug. 22nd. I own both of these individual titles on DVDs already, but if there's any substantial extras (e.g., commentaries or documentaries) included on this new release I may just be enticed to double dip. Amazon.com isn't mentioning anything, but then again, they don't even have a cover image yet. Does anyone have any advanced word about this release?

DVDEmpire has the front cover up:

but no details on contents yet. I don't imagine there'll be much of anything on these, except maybe what's on the existing single DVDs (which isn't much -- maybe a short featurette?) This is really just a budget release combining both films.

I already own both so it'll be interesting to see the specs.

I've said it once and I'll say again.... Them! has one of the best transfers ever!

I'd be very surprised if there's anything new added for this release - in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the few extras on the individual releases were dropped.

They combined a couple of their Hammer releases on a double feature release. And they were nothing more than the single editions together.

I'm sure this will be the same thing, and is a good cost effective way of purchasing for those who don't own either yet.

Unless Warner announces otherwise, consider this part of their (recently) new plan of slapping two movies into one case (either as a two-disc set or as a double-sided single disc) and calling it a double feature. Expect them to be the exact same discs as you have now.

hmmmm... perhaps this is an opportunity to reduce shelf clutter and rid myself of more snapper cases.

Expect the double releases to be identical - in fact they might even put two discs in one case, which would save them the expense of authoring a new master disc with two films on!

This is just a repackaging exercise, at best.
