Not the greatest deal on the planet, but:

Save $10 when you buy either Pee-Wee's Playhouse Vol 1 or 2, along with Pee-Wee Live at the Roxy:

I remember some talk shortly after the sets were released over two years ago, that they would eventually be reissued with Paul Reubens commentary. Anyone hear anything about this?

I remember some talk shortly after the sets were released over two years ago, that they would eventually be reissued with Paul Reubens commentary. Anyone hear anything about this?

They actually mentioned that *before* they came out. (Which was a HUGE mistake, IMO). The press release mentioned that a more elaborate edition would be released a few months later, and Paul Reubens was saying the same thing at every talk show he went on to pimp the DVDs.

Why they thought that was a good approach is beyond me:

Katie Couric: So, Paul, you have these new sets coming out.
Paul Reubens: Yes, they cost $50 each and the cool thing is that in a few months, we'll be putting out even better ones!
KC: Ummm... great, well... so, everyone go to Wal-Mart and buy these today!

:hscratch:

Anyway, no... I haven't heard anything about these since the original announcement. Given that he has recently hit the talk show circuit again (Conan, etc.) to highlight these, along with the Adult Swim airings, I don't expect we'll see them any time soon. Nothing official was announced, but I think the idea may have been scrapped.
