Gummi Bears coming to DVD, possibly 11/14

According to TVShowsOnDVD.com, but no other information is known yet. I've been waiting for a long time for this show, and was hoping with some Disney shows releasing volumes this one would show up and hopefully this retailer is correct.

I am definitely getting this. Gummi Bears is by far the most underrated of the disney toons.

They need to hurry up and release the 2nd set of Ducktales with the pilot on it, it's been a while since the first set was released.

I loved the theme tune to Gummi Bears. Didn't Lorenzo Music (Garfield, The Real Ghostbusters) perform one of the voices?

Dashing and daring
Courageous and caring
Faithfully and friendly
With stories to share
Out in the forest
They sing out in chorus
Marching along
As their song fills the air
Gummi Bears
Bouncing here and there and everywhere
High adventure that's beyond compare
They are the Gummi Bears!

Lorenzo voiced Tummi.

I'm estatic that this is finally coming to DVD, along with the second collections of both Ducktales and Rescue Rangers that I was starting to worry about, I saw some episodes recently and this show holds up surprisingly well.

I'm definitely going to pick up the second volumes of Ducktales and Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers - those are the shows I grew up on. However, I must say that I've never seen an episode of the Gummi Bears, nor have I ever heard of it. I may blind-buy it, though.

Wow, I thought everyone had heard of Gummi Bears. It was a Disney show several years before Chip & Dale RR and Tale Spin, in my opinion the best and most famous of the bunch.

I've heard of/eaten the candy, of course, but I never knew that it was a show.

I have a 2 year old daughter that i have kept away from modern cartoons (we don't have cable) and raised her with the Muppet Show, Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock etc. She doesn't even like cartoons but will watch the muppets religiously. It is nice getting her into shows that aren't just trying to sell her merchandise.

New Update: Large cover art for the definite release, for Seasons 1-3 in the same volume, and still a low price of $34.95. Couldn't be happier. Also updated on TVShowsonDVD.com are updates for DuckTales including the 5part pilot movie released on the same date.

This is awesome... I'll be picking up two copies: one for myself, and one for my 4 year-old neice...

This, Chipmunks, Doug, and Land Before Time where the cartoons I was raised on!

47 episodes on 3 discs sounds like an overkill of compression

It's actually 29 half-hour (minus commercials) episodes. Many episodes actually had 2 or 3 different stories, so that 47 episode number is actually the number of "stories" in the 29 episodes. Granted 29 episodes is still stretching it for 3 discs (~10/disc) but it's not 47.

Same here. Add Duck Tales to that list and you have our playlist at home. I just find it interesting exposing her to stuff I used to like to see if it has the same effect on her as it did me. She didn't like Chip N Dale which is interesting because I was never a big fan either. I loved Gummi Bears so I can't wait to try that out on her to get a reaction.

Plus, like you said, 98% of what's on now blows by comparison.
