Running With Scissors

Trailer: http://www.apple.com/trailers/sony_p...gwithscissors/

Synopsis: Young Augusten Burroughs (Cross) absorbs experiences that could make for a shocking memoir: the son of an alcoholic father (Baldwin) and an unstable mother (Bening), he's handed off to his mother's therapist, Dr. Finch (Cox), and spends his adolescent years as a member of Finch's bizarre extended family.

Stars: Annette Bening, Gwyneth Paltrow, Brian Cox, Alex Baldwin, Joseph Cross, Evan Rachel Wood, Jill Clayburgh, Joseph Fiennes

Director/Writer: Ryan Murphy (Nip/Tuck), Augusten Burroughs

Looks pretty interesting. Great cast.

It does look really good. I just hope they stick close to the book (which was a great read).

All you had to say was Ryan Murphy. Good looking trailer. Sold.

Well, the book was quite sexual in parts. And not the "conventional" type. Like "Less Than Zero", I doubt they'll stick too close to the book.

It's not that I want some porno type film or anything, but those parts give substance to certain characters in the book. The actor playing Augusten is/was, I believe, 18 when he filmed so I think they could "get away" with a few things.

Although the film looks good, I am more anticipated in viewing it to see what changes were made moreso than for entertainment value.

Yep, I'm still really excited about it. The debut feature from the creator of Nip/Tuck. An astounding cast. Based on one of my favorite books. I really, really hope this one doesn't go wrong.
