Karloff Columbia Box Set on the Way!
Karloff Columbia Box Set on the Way!
from Dvddrive-in - just in from comic-con!
It has just been confirmed that Sony will release a DVD box set in October called "Icons of Horror Collection: Boris Karloff." The set will include the following Karloff Columbia titles: THE BLACK ROOM, THE MAN THEY COULD NOT HANG, BEFORE I HANG and THE BOOGIE MAN WILL GET YOU. No exact date yet, and no retail price yet.
As a Karloff fan, this set seems to be a lot better than the Universal ones. And I don't think Sony uses DVD-18s like Universal either. I have seen most of these and they are all pretty good - though Black Room is excellent.
Definitely on my want list!

It's a longshot but it would be nice if Sony released the 'B' movies that were released in double features with their 'A' '50s sci-fi/horror titles. THE GIANT CLAW. THE 27TH DAY, THE WEREWOLF, CREATURE WITH THE ATOMIC BRAIN, MAN WHO TURNED TO STONE, ZOMBIES OF MORA TAU.

[QUOTE=rw2516]Nobody I can think of. This ptretty much covers the rest of Columbia's classic horror on dvd except CRY OF THE WEREWOLF. [snippage]
I don't have that THE UNDYING MONSTER (1942) has made it to DVD yet. I have a VHS copy from tv that a friend made me, and it is a pretty decent werewolf thriller from a classic novel of the same name.
