They won't get much on eBay... some of them have been listed at 1 cent and gone unsold... have over 300 CDs that I don't listen to much anymore. I've thought of using LaLa to exchange them... pawn shop gives 50 cents each. Any place online that lets you trade? They're all in new condition complete (case, cover, booklet, etc).

Post a list in the sticky thread in this forum, and see what people offer? If you really have 300, then I'm sure there will be people that want to buy in bulk.

Unfortunately you have to post a price when you post the list Maybe for trading, though.

I'm going to sell about a 100 cds on Ebay. I've done it before by having 5 or so cd lots. I've been satisfied with what $ I've got.

I wish Ebay let you do "pick 5" lots. I've got tons of cassettes I wouldn't mind letting go for a few bucks for 5 or so, buyer picks, but I am not going to list them individually or in preset lots.

Try them on Amazon.com. Lots of items sell through their Marketplace for more than they'd go on ebay. And if you're smart with shipping, you could make money just off the shipping credit [not a lot, admittedly, but some.]

If you're getting toward the 'cheaper to throw them away stage', please consider donating them--I'm sure there is some organization/charity near you that could use them, either to resell themselves or for their own use. And a tax writeoff for 'resale value' might be worth more than the cash you'd make.

You could always do something like "$3 (or $2 or whatever) each, minimum of 5 CDs, free shipping if you buy over 10 CDs" or something.

I will in two weeks I'm preparing for a trip and 300+ CDs is a lot to get through, so it'll have to wait until I come back.

I sold all my CDs to Rasputen and to Streetlight, both used CD shops in my area. I got decent prices for most of them.

Try a used CD shop, rather than a pawn shop. Hell, even Tower Records will give you more than $0.50 per CD if they are in good shape.

Two weeks? I'll be gone and back in about three weeks. All the cream of the crop will be gone. Gone I tell you!

Try any local indie music stores in town. We've only got one but they buy used and paid much more than the pawn shop offered. I sold em about 200 last year then took the ones they didn't want to the pawn shop.

I tried some used CD places around Los Angeles and they didn't take too many. I got rid of maybe 30 out of 300. I just advertised the rest on craigslist as a package deal. I think I had about 250 for sale and was asking $200. Looking back on it now, I think I could have asked for more because there was quite a lot of interest. But I was happy to get even $200 for them after being turned down by mulitple used cd places. Most of them were in pretty good shape, just minor, light scratches, but they won't take them unless they're perfect.

It's less than a buck a piece, but they were all burned and sitting in crates in my closet. And I didn't have to deal with mailing out cd's to a bunch of different people. It paid for my Roku player too, so I'm happy.

Aren't there still places (brick & mortars) that will sell stuff on Ebay for you then give you a (majority) % of the proceeds? Or were they all deemed scam companies?

lala.com is definitely the best route to go - basically you can trade any of them up to an album you want for $1.75. Well, not all of them will be wanted by people, but I guarantee with 300 of them you can easily move a good amount of them.

Well see mine are scratched free and come with everything and LaLa's requirements are that they are playable and are CD only, so in a way I lose value by trading them there.

Wherehouse.com also has the 50 cents - $1 range.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll call some used shop around here during the weekend (which for me is Wednesday-Thursday).

.
That doesn't make sense. You are trying to sell them for less than $1 each and at Lala you could trade them for something you actually want.

I think GatorDeb is trying to purge so she may not want more of them.

This is the way to go. The CD's I have placed there generally move within a week or two as long as they're priced competitively.

You could trade your CDs for an Ipod.
