I am definitely buying V For Vendetta as soon as I can on August 1st.
One question though...is it a re-issue of Volume 1 (of 10) of the comic or is it the entire 280+ page novel? Sin City did include an entire novel (200+ pages) in their Director's Cut but everything I have seen on V For Vendetta has said it will be just the 1st Volume re-issue (60+ pages)

It does not say but I'd say the 1st Volume re-issue...........

I would imagine that - since its not bundled in all sets like Sin City - that it would be a reprint of the first issue of the limited series. but who knows.

I kinda figured it would be the re-issue...but one can hope can't he...lol
I'm wanting to see if CC and BB offer any bonuses with this...so far I am leaning towards Target

Speedy, so am I correct in saying the V comic and lenticular cover are exclusive only to the 2 disc SE? I remember when Narnia was released, they advertised two exclusive lithographs that was listed for both the 1 disc and 2 disc dvds, but we later found it they only came with the 1 disc dvd. I just want to make sure this doesn't happen again!
Thanks again as always! I fail to see how BB or CC could beat an exclusive dvd with Beavis and Butt-head, or the V exclusives, so it looks like I'm off to Target that Tuesday.

That's specifically what the ad states on page 17. In fact there is a red balloon attached to the Deluxe Edition to draw attention to it.
I remember that mini-Narnia fiasco but remember: I just report the ad copy; I don't write it! ;)

Circuit City will have the theatrical version for $13.99 with a free lithograph.
Nowhere in that upcoming ad does it mention a Deluxe Version like Target is offering (and I most certainly will be getting that Target exclusive ;) )
See my comments about lenticular version above..............

So just to clarify
***The 2 DVD will have 1 VOLUME of the comic or the WHOLE Dark Novel?***
If its the whole thing thats a sweet deal and Im all over that. If its just a volume thats shit cause why would I want part of the story? Its all or nothing. And for that price I'll just wait to get the DVD for $15 here locally and get the novel down the line for $5 on ebay. Has there been any clarification on what is going to be offered?
Edit - Well I squinted real hard and it looks like the comic is only a volume. Booo, total rip off.

Total rip off? It's free! Besides, people should already own the comic, so this shouldn't be a problem. ;)

No need to apologize man, I didnt direct anything at you. Just ranting outloud sorta.
I understand the comic being free, but I dont like that they offer a volume like its a big deal. Its free, so? Now if I want to read everything I gotta buy the other 9 or so. Nahhh. Besides, I just hate how they gotta make 2 discs now and sell them like theyre gold. Remember when 2 discs were the standard releases and barebone 1 discs were the cheap $5 bin crap?

Not really. 2-disc releases have always been more the execption than the rule.

I think what he meant was that there used to be only a 2 disc release (Rent and the first few Harry Potter movies plus Star Wars comes to mind), but now they release 2 discs that rarely can be found for less than $22.99 on release day due to their being a very inferior 1 disc release at the same time.
Peronally I am not conforming to this. As far as possible I've been getting these 2 discers from Columbia House, i.e. V for Vendetta (2 disc), FD 3 (2 disc) and Backbeat CE I got shipped for $27.xx with ther current BOGO and free shipping on 3 or more. Hell of alot better than anything retail can offer.

Yeah, it sorta sucks. I would've bought Munich if the standard release was normal priced, but now, even though it's $10 for the one disc, no deal. Same with a lot of other movies, like Batman Begins, Charlie and Chocolate Factory, in terms of me not settling.
Just thought about this. Kinda sucks the way the ad comes out on sunday but dvd's don't come out till tuesday so you only have 5 days or less to get them before they go off sale. Will be getting a few this week though.

It's a VERY striking cover for V folks.
I was walking through the strore and at the end of aisle I can see some DVDs but not what they are. I see this image on the stand that looks like flames that as I got closer I saw as a Flaming V.
I said, oh crap nice but not what I wanted or is shown above.
I pick it up, tilt it slighly and it morphs into what's shown above. VERY NICE!!!!
The only drawback that I can see is the the mini-comic book is shrink wrapped to the case and as such it fills the cover case up.
Once you open it and take that off, there'll be about 1/8 - .25 inch gap so the cover case won't stay on as well. Maybe a couple of thin slats of styrofoam placed there (like we used to place in VHS boxes back in the day) will do the trick.

Yeap. that's what i saw yesterday... I brought a copy, but then return it, $25 with tax is a bit too much for the cover (main reason). The GN is the same size as that of Sin City. Good stuff, i would buy it in a heart beat if it's $17...

You guys are REALLY misreading what the ad stated.
Included on the set is 2 NEW TO DVD cartoons.
There is no bonus disc except at Best Buy which is where I suggest you go.
People are really upset about the misleading language used in the ad which I quoted directly from.

I crave in and bought the lenticular cover version of V at Target. It was Saturday and I had to go to a second Target in order to find it in stock.
