DAY OF THE DEAD remake!

According to DARK HORIZONS:
Bryan Goluboff ("The Basketball Diaries") has apparently been contacted by Richard Rubinstein (producer on the upcoming "Dawn of the Dead" remake) about scripting a remake of "Day of the Dead." When there's no more room in hell...
mindless studio heads will walk the earth! Come on, do we really
need this remake?

How about give George Romero the money to do the Day of the Dead he originally wanted?

I doubt he would do it as his plans are to conclude the series
with DEAD RECKONING, if it ever leaves development hell!
His on again off again relationship with Fox over the past year
appears to be off again. Apparently creative differences between the studio and Romero over the film's content has come to a head. Just let him make the movie already!

Could you elaborate what Romero originally had intended for Day?

A slight hijack, are the Living Dead the same as zombies, or do they have "zombie" movies and "living dead" or "walking dead" movies (or is there another name that works for living dead?)

Day of the Dead: Contagium

Not sure if this was already posted but I was looking around upcominghorromovies.com and came across this movie Day of the Dead:Contagium. According to the director this is not a sequel, or a prequel (though it works like one) but rather an homage to Romero and his Dead trilogy learn more about the movie here

WARNING: The web site contains images of intense gore.

It's a low budget flick that trades on the Dead trilogy by using Day of the Dead in the title. Anyone seeing it thinking it's going to be like the Romero films will be sadly disappointed.

It looks like a bad student film.

Cool. Looks like it's going to be like a Romero film. I'll be there with high expectations!

I read the interviews, and they don't seem to have any official ties with Romero (duh!) (Romero is busy getting his own films green lit) - what, so he won't notice this one?

What's to stop me making something like

Jurassic Park: DINO COPS

It says they're both working on "Creepshow" next - is this another rip off, or an official third sequel? Hmmmm

Jeez...Sounds like these people are such un-original film makers that they're actually making sequels to films without having the legal right to do it. How exactly are they going to get away with this? Are they only going after movies that George Romero has been involved with? Sure seems like it.

Romero is too buisy on Land of the Dead. Rumor is that Dennis Hopper may be in the film.

Oh hell, I'll still buy the cheap homage.

Yeah, in about 5 years we'll get our land remake.

"Congrats Mr. Romero on the completion of your new film" "Thanks, I just wish It was released before all of my remakes".

Uh, yeah I know, and if I came off the wrong way let me clear that up by saying that I'm actually looking forward to this remake........but I wouldn't even watch Contagium if you paid me.

Also, please keep in mind that it is ok for people to be pissed about this news as well.
