A) The answer to your question: yes.
B) Think, not thank. C'mon now.
C) Aren't there talkbacks at AICN for this?

Nobody in their right mind turns to AICN for an unbiased, well-written review. Harry Knowles is just one of many film fans who turned to the internet for the discourse he couldn't find amongst the average joe. The only difference: his site took off, and he started to get some perks here and there that he more than willingly accepted (and why the fuck not?).

Nobody mistakes AICN for anything other than what it is...not the studios, not Harry and his crew, not the "Harry is a fat looser lolz" AICN Talkback crowd, and not the "lay off the guy already" crowd. I've jumped to the guy's defense on here before, and I've done it on the IMDB and a handful of other boards. Personally, I don't see what the big beef is. Honestly, he just doesn't have enough pull to get into a frenzy over. He's simply a huge movie fan who has done a fucking lot for his local film community. Why people get all worked up over his site and what he does or writes is beyond me. It's almost as if they think they're the only ones who see through the facade. Fucking as if.

He totally blew chunks at X-Men The Last Stand, but I got the feeling it was more of a crap on Brett Ratner than anything else.

In agreement here. I don't necessarily read AICN for criticism as much as I appreciate Harry's enthusiasm about film - however sometimes off-the-mark it seems to me.

I just wish his site wasn't such an eyesore to look at...

I've looked at the site twice, and that's enough. Anything dealing with aicn.com I breeze right over (but I do get annoyed when I see Harry on DVD extras).

Harry used to give great reviews from a fan's perspective...nowadays, however, he just gives great reviews to whatever studios pay him off the most. AICN used to be, IMO, the best movie site online now its useless for opinions.

I feel the same way about AICN that i do about the Empire film magazine. They both started out with good intentions but have become arse kissing brown nosers. I don't ever agree with a single review thats made on AICN. Maybe i am one of the few people that actually liked X-3, but i was disgusted by the way they were ripping into the movie on that site before a single scene of it had ever been filmed. They seem to think at AICN that they are movie gods....in fact they are just a bunch of fat nerds who wouldn't know a good movie if it came up to them and took the cheesburgers out of there oversized mouths. Added to which many other sites get scoops before they do now.

And, since when is commenting on a reviewer's opinion of a movie, or their impartiality at all, discouraged in here?

All of Harry's reviews for the past couple months starts off with:

"Me and my fiancee...."

"My fiancee and I were shopping for our wedding...."

"My hot fiancee and I just saw...."

like he's trying to prove that he's got a life.

Yeah, I remember him loving Godzilla. I'm sure it had nothing to do with him being invited to the big huge Hollywood premiere.

It beats him talking about his hobby of collecting 8mm film strips of old pantyhose commercials, as he has in the past.

I go there just to get a taste of what a film "might" be and some DVD reviews, but other than that, harry sucks at reviewing.

Harry Knowles actually completely slammed "X-Men 3" while holding his buddy Brett Ratner blameless. (How such a feat is possible boggles the mind.)
