What top 10 games would you put in your home arcade?

I love this.

http://www.peterhirschberg.com/arcade/gameroom.htm

He's even got a raised section, like all the best arcades should have.

I want a home arcade. Not a MAME cabinet. A real life home arcade straight out of the '80s and early '90s. Here's what I would stock it with:

- Ms. Pac-Man
- Joust
- Galaga
- Q*Bert
- Donkey Kong
- Golden Axe
- Spy Hunter
- X-Men (4-player, not neutered 2-player)
- The Simpsons (same)
- A Capcom fighting game of some kind

Runners up:

- Zaxxon
- Dig Dug
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (3 beat-'em-ups is a bit much)
- Super Mario Bros.

That's an arcade that I personally would love, and I think just about anyone could find something they would want to play if they saw it.

I'm not sure I can think of 10... but must haves for me would be X-Men, the Simpsons, Ninja Turtles, Street Fighter 2, Marvel vs. Capcom, and one of the Time Crisis games. Maybe throw in Cruisin USA.

I love that set up! It looks like an exact replica of some of the arcades I used to hang out.

For me, I'll put the following games:
- Street Fighter II and Street Fighter II CE
- Mortal Kombat
- Pac-Man
- 1942
- Donkey Kong
- Super Mario Brothers
- Outrun
- Frogger
- Joust

Not sure if I can think of ten, but I would need a large room for all the racing games I would want to have in there. I'm not really an old-schooler so most of these are going to be newer. Also I just loves the racing games.

1. Sega Rally (my favorite arcade game of all time)
2. Sega GT
3. Virtua Cop 1/2/3 (just one would be fine)
4. Time Crisis (any)
5. 4-Player Ninja Turtles
6. Ferrari F-355 Challenge
7. Soul Calibur
8. Silent Scope

I once heard of a Wipeout XL arcade cabinet too, I've never seen it but I'm sure it would make my list if I had.

Most of the games I'd put in an arcade are already listed here, but one I haven't seen is the Star Wars Trilogy game. Oh, and I'd also put in Killer Instinct (both, but if I had to choose, I'd pick the first one).

1) Twin Cobra
2) Punch-Out
3) Mortal Combat
4) Karate Champ
5) Mr. Do's Castle
6) Dragon's Lair
7) Gauntlet
8) Track and Field (version with buttons, not ball)
9) NBA Jam
10) Super Tennis

Still a goal of mine to have an arcade room...and no arcade room would be complete without a full sized air hockey table and one of those ice hockey games (the one with the plastice dome over the playing area).

Man, that's nice. I wouldn't be able to decide between a smaller version of a game room or a home theater set up.

If arcade, my top 10 would be:

Centipede (for the wife)
TMNT or Xmen (4 player versions)
Robotron or Smash TV
Twilight Zone (pinball)
Street Fighter 2 or Mortal Kombat
Point Blank
Time Crisis or House of the Dead (#2 or later versions)
Spy Hunter
Any "sitdown" type racing game
Gondolar or something like that: you're on a long skinny floating bike thing and you controller is a 360 aiming/movement twist type joystick. Did a search but can't find it with my bad memory.

Ah, maybe if I win the lottery some day......

Mortal Kombat 2
Alien vs. Predator
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time
NBA Jam: TE
WWF Wrestlefest
Daytona USA
Time Crisis 2
Virtua Tennis
Saturday Night Slammasters

Ugh hard to choose, but I agree with a lot of people here. I can't believe no one chose Title Fight though!

In no particular order, even though I numbered:
1. Title Fight (two players original cabinet)
2. Time Crisis 3 (two players)
3. X-men (6 players)
4. The Simpsons (4 players)
5. DDR SuperNova, just because
6. Marvel vs. Capcom 2
7. Strikers 1942
8. The latest Metal Slug... forget which number
9. F-zero AX (is there two players?)
10. Something without a screen if possible? Like... Air hockey?

I absolutely have wanted to do this for years. My wife and I finally have a house with a little extra space, so I might start with a couple games.

For me:
- Ms. Pac-Man (would also take Pac-Man)
- Joust
- Galaga
- Donkey Kong
- X-Men (6-player, not neutered 4-player )
- The Simpsons
- Dungeons and Dragons
- Ice Cold Beer (doubt I'd ever find this)
- Frogger, table
- Mario kart (not a realistic choice, but it'd be nice)

I'd also like a pinball machine.

I am sure I'd take others if they were available first, but these are the ones that come immediately to mind.

I'm slowly working up a small collection right now that is basically everywhere but in my own house(not enough room). I have a full size air hockey table in my father-in-laws garage that I bought a year or so ago. I have Missile Command and Pac-Man cabinets in my parents basement and an Asteroids machine in a closet here. I have a Pachislo slot machine too. I'm thinking of just having an addition built onto my house so I could move everything in there as well as my 36" and 57" Cinema Series Toshibas when I upgrade next year. I could then hook up all my old game systems to these sets and leave them setup all the time. I also have a consolized Neo Geo MVS board that I could also hook up as well. I don't know what else I want at this time except for maybe Space Invaders, Galaga or Ms. Pac-Man.
