This film begins filming in August and will be released in May 2007 by Fox Searchlight. As far as I know, there won't be any returning cast members from the first film.

Danny Boyle attached to direct?

The director is Juan Carlos Fresnadillo.

This is the plot outline from IMDB: "Britain has been emptied. There's nobody there. It's completely dead. And six months later the Americans arrive to reboot it back up again. But, of course, something goes wrong... "

What? Oh good! Yay!

Not sure how I feel about changing directors... The style was half the fun of 28 Days Later.

That said, was Intacto any good? Always wanted to see it.

Who? Please tell me that's not the spanish translation for Uwe Boll.

Who? Please tell me that's not the spanish translation for Uwe Boll.Fresnadillo made a rather original and taut little thriller called Intacto, about a man who luckily escapes a plane crash only to become a target of a society that can steal people's luck. Max Von Sydow has a small, but really very good role. You can pick it up for six bucks in places.

Hmmm ... no Boyle, huh? Well <i>that</i> dampened my enthusiasm very quickly.

Unless I hear some really bad things about this, I’m there. I ended up buying Intacto after one rental and gots no regrets. Of course, while the script for Intacto was it’s shining star, the director was definitely no Uwe Boll.

lame switch. I want my erotic chin nibbling forum.

I finished watching Intacto again. Danny Boyle is a fool compared to this guy. I watched, trying to distill the direction from how much I liked the script. Breeeeee-illiant!

The visuals, the segues…Christ! I can’t wait.

(so is this new forum consigning people that like horror movies to the same Hell as people that like books?)

No Boyle and no Cillian Murphy = no point.

I do think that Boyle and Andrew McDonald are attached as producers of some sort.

If it has zombie-like non-zombies (speedy or not), I'm so there!

So our three heroes from the first movie didn't survive after all? Aw, that sucks. I liked the bit of hope at the end of the first movie.

I think they were "emptied". They live as far as I'm concerned and I see no reason why this sequel would even bring it up one way or another.

I am not excited about this movie. 28 Days Later was amazing as a standalone film and does not need a sequel. Especially one that, from what I have heard, sounds like a retread of the first movie, but with American accents. Dumb.

Anybody know if they will be shooting on DV again?

Didn't the three heroes at the end of the movie get out of Britain?

They're still in Britain at the end, but they are spotted by a Jet flying over within the final seconds of the film, so one is to assume that they were rescued.
