20% off DVDs at secondspin.com

Just got an e-mail from secondspin.com saying that all DVDs are 20% off through 7/18. Haven't really looked if there are good deals or not, just wanted to pass this on.

I got the Rambo Trilogy for $14. It was featured in the email newsletter I got from them.

Yeah, I just got the same email. The prices seem pretty good. Anyone know what they charge for shipping?

Also, do you guys have luck receiving slipcovers, inserts, etc. for the copies you receive at SecondSpin?

Note that secondspin.com and wherehouse.com are two websites fronting the same inventory (don't ask me why). Prices and shipping on some items may differ between the two sites, but they are usually close, so do the math before you make a purchase to see which one works out for the best deal.

Make sure you are aware everything they sell is used. So it's probably no good. Don't buy from them.

It's hit and miss, like wherehouse.com. Spun.com is better about it, though.

The bad thing about Second Spin is that not only do they charge shipping charges but sales tax too. What I don't understand is why? I don't have a Second Spin or Wherehouse anywhere in my state.

How about FYE, Coconuts or Strawberries? I believe they are all owned by the same parent company.

We do have an FYE. I guess that's why. Thanks for the info.

Thanks OP for pointing out the sale.

Picked up the Thin Man Collection for $26, along with two Woody Allen films.

If anyone's interested, Cries and Whispers: Criterion is available for $11.99.

The one thing I don't like about secondspin and wherehouse is that if you buy the last copy of a DVD, there is a chance you will not get it because of their inventory system. I have had this happen to me on a ton of things, just be sure to look at your order history once the items ship out and make sure nothing was canceled.

Well I bought a few cds from their 20% off sale a few weeks ago, and everything was in great shape.

Some of the digipacks did have some wear and tear, but nothing more than usual.

I just checked my order status; they cancelled the Invisible Man set from my order. Bummer, I really wanted that one, and it was a great price.

Hopefully, the rest of the items I ordered will still ship.

All of my stuff is still "in progress" it sucks because almost everything I bought besides a couple movies were the last DVD in stock at the time. I hope I don't get burned on anything because I want these movies bad.

Some states have a sales tax policy. I know that Amazon charges sales tax for Kentucky customers because of it. And when I do my taxes each year, they now want to know how much product you bought on-line without paying sales tax.

Their shipping sucks. I've never received a cd in which the jewel case wasn't in a thousand pieces. When contacted they will offer you 50 cents for the broken case. Dvd are a mixed bag. Some are okay, others come pretty beat up. If they ship your order in a box, thumbs up! If in their crappy white, sticky bubble wrap, thumbs down...

...and now they've cancelled the Frankenstein set from my order too. I really wanted those two; I would have much rather they'd cancelled the other three DVDs I ordered, so of course, those have already shipped.

I can't find the Rambo Trilogy anywhere on their site. Can you post a direct link to it?
