Worst Movie Type-The Super Chick Flick
I have watched some real bad movies lately...the one thing they all have in common:A Super Chick/Action Hero.
These are some horrible movies and the last one I can remember that was any good was an Alien movie with Sigorney Weaver and well Barb Wire is Citezen Cane compared to this dribble....
Are there any good ones?
Case in Point:
Bloodrayne-Oh Ghandi...how could you do this?
Ultra Violet-Could be the worst ever...even more then catwoman
Aeron Flux
Cat Woman
Electra
All of these are Horrible!!!!!!!!!!Am I wrong here?

Anyway, I think all those movies listed had potential but the Directors fucked them up Royally.

you left out the Tomb raider movies.
I agree, these all suck. I loved Fifth Element though, but that one was more about Bruce Willis than Milla so I don't think it qualifies for the genre.
hmmmm... but "Underworld" was not bad.

The Resident Evil movies are a little better than the ones on your list. They're not great, but I found them somewhat entertaining.
If you're a Firefly fan, Serenity was pretty good.

They're not all bad. Of course I've heard good and bad about Aeon Flux, si I'm not sure what to believe.
Serenity is great (though it REALLY helps to have seen the Firefly episodes first since this film is really a 2 hour finale disguised as a stand alone film).
Underworld: Evolution was fun. The first one was ok and better the second time around on the extended dvd.
Kill Bill was awesome.
Resident Evil was ok.
Funny thing though. I have not seen any one of the films on your list.
Of course the greatest thing ever made featuring an ass kicking chick, bar none, is not even a movie, it's Buffy The Vampire Slayer the series.

Everyone is right about all these other Super Chick Movies. Many of them were really disappointing, especially Tomb Raider and Aeon Flux.
I am such a big fan of the Aeon Flux cartoon that I went ahead and bought the Charlize Theron film out of obligation, loyalty, and support. The movie is bad, but I don't totally hate it. Being such a hardcore fan of Aeon Flux since she came out in the 90s allows me to find at least a few things to enjoy... But I definitely recognize how inferior and embarassing it is juxtaposed with the genius animated version.
Peter Chung is way too passive. He allowed Aeon Flux "the movie" to happen in a bad way, and gave his blessings on way too many things.
It's movies like this where you say: "if I would've had control over it, it would've been much better." If I were Peter Chung, I would not have allowed the freedom that he gave the director with his own material. I would've strictly made sure that the movie was as weird, over the top, and uncompromising as the silent shorts. And I would've casted a different actress (I love Theron, but not as Aeon), an actress who was much more skinny in the body and face.
Another thing, they said the hairstyle was impossible. They said it was impossible to make Aeon's hairstyle from the cartoon into a real-life movie. Nonsense. Nothing is impossible in film. If you scratch out Aeon's biggest trademark from the get-go, what are the chances that it's going to work?
I believe Aeon Flux, given the material and history of this brilliant cartoon, could've been better than Kill Bill. But they didn't have the budget, nor the talent. And no way was anyone going to put out the money to make something this risky.
Sorry for the blabbering.

My guess would be because they're all Sony titles that appeal to a certain demographic (i.e., people who buy a lot of DVDs and are likely to be early Blu-Ray adopters).
Someone mentioned Kill Bill. Please don't forget the films that inspired those movies, like the Female Convict Scorpion and Lady Snowblood series.

Which "Super Chick" movies did you think were better than Kill Bill? I'm interested in checking them out.
