SNL - Best of TV Funhouse - WHEN?

Last night, I was watching SNL to see it was the Best of Saturday TV Funhouse, which I had missed in its original airing as my TV was in the shop.

Halfway through, I was greatly pleased to see it had my favorite one - Journey to the Disney Vault (though I was disappointed that the "Fun with Real Time Audio" that made fun of Bjork at the Oscars wasn't included). As all Best ofs are released on DVD, I was wondering if anyone knew when this would be out.

Soon. There is going to be a TV Funhouse panel at this year's San Diego Comic Con, and the description mentioned that it would be released on DVD soon.

I didn't know it was on last night; I would have loved to watch it again.

Can't wait for the DVD!

Forget best of...I want a full set of all the shorts from SNL. That and the series that Smigel did for Comedy Central...wasn't that TV Funhouse as well?

Ditto! I LOVE Journey to the Disney Vault. I just hope they can clear that one for DVD.

Yeah - I went to the Museum of Television and Radio in Manhattan a couple of months ago and they were showing a 90 minute special of SNL short films from over the years. There is some amazing stuff there.

If they can't get Journey to the Disney Vault, I'll DIE!

That was the sole thing that caused me to laugh so hard this year on SNL.

"What's HUAAC?"

"It's the House Un-American something or other."

"Wait! Disney ratted out animators for being Communists?"

I'm attending that panel (unless something comes up) and I'll post if they mention a date.

I hope they release them unedited. When they had the full TV Funhouse SNL show, they trimmed parts of the cartoons.

I never would have said this before last night, but there are TWO SNL DVDs that I am waiting for. The other is a compilation of all the Celebrity Jeopardy segments -- WHEN DEAR GOD, WHEN!?

Sorta on the topic...

Has anyone heard of the release schedule for more "best of's"?

There seemed to be a pattern of 2 releases, quarterly, there for awhile... now I cant find anything.

Bill Murray! Martin Short! Will Ferrell 3!...WILL FORTE!!!!!

"Journey to the Disney Vault" is one of the funniest bits I've ever seen on SNL.

I won't lie in bed tossing and turning over the lack of a Will Forte DVD, but Bill Murray certainly deserves one.

I loved it too. Seemed tailor-made for this DVD-loving audience.

The program itself will likely be the same, but according to Patrick's site, DavisDVD, the extras will include an hour of additional cartoons (some never-aired) and "select commentaries."

I wonder if the cartoons will be cut like they were when the special aired.
