Pinnocchio (1940) - possible SE?
Is there likely to be a Platinum Edition release of this classic? Really deserves it IMO.
Monstro (sp?) the whale actually scared me when I was young, as did the bit when Pinocchio's friend turns into a donkey after sampling cigars and beer.
The score is great too - "When You Wish Upon A Star"... *sniff*

I'm sure Pinnochio will eventually get the proper treatment - for me, it's as good as hand-drawn animation can be.

The info is at Ultimate Disney. The Platinum Collection was originally 10 movies, but it got upgraded to 14. The Little Mermaid is out this October, followed by 101 Dalmations and The Jungle Book in 2007. Pinnocchio, Peter Pan, Fantasia and Sleeping Beauty will be released afterwards, so the earliest a Pinnocchio PE could come out is 2008. And there's the possibility that it could be a Blu-Ray disc if the format takes off.

This screams Platnium Edition from them. Fab movie, classic animation, just great.
Who knows how they decide what gets a PE, I thought Dumbo should've...

With new leadership over at Disney, I wouldn't be shocked if they start speeding up the releases even more so than they already have. Disney has far too much in the "vault" to be taking so long to release everything.
