Regular sales at online DVD sites?
A few months ago, Deep Discount DVD had a buy one get one free sale on a number of TV sets and I purchased some Stargate using it. I have since noticed that I missed a 20% sale there and have read that they have them about 2 times a year. Can someone tell me what sales Deep Discount DVDs or similar places have on a regular basis? Is the BOGO set that I used before a regular one? I am specifically in the market for the whole X files series. I have looked on ebay and can get them cheaper there but have found most to be Asian and China editions. I have purchased one set of those and while it is not terrible quality, it is just not the same no matter what the sellers on ebay say.

DDD has usually one or two major sales per month. Sometimes it's BOGO, sometimes 50% off. Each one focuses on a different studio, but there doesn't seem to be any pattern to which one they choose. This month it's Kino.

Most of the major sites (Deep Discount, DVD Empire, etc.) usually have one or two sales running at any given time - but there isn't any way to predict what will be on sale, or when.
Which is exactly why you should check this forum regularly - nothing gets by DVD Talkers unnoticed!

Be aware that sales are often used to clear old stock before a price drop. It pays to keep abreast of price drops so you can determine if a sale price is really a good deal or not, and whether you should wait a few weeks or months to buy it.
