Call of Duty 2 Invasion Map Pack Review
Call of Duty 2 Invasion Map Pack: 800 ms points ($10) Maps: 5 @ $2 a map it is worth it, these are nice maps, that seem to cut down the number of sniping points.
St. Louet, France (Newvillers)
Recommended players: 8
Best Game Modes: CTF, HQ and Team DM
Screenshots:
Description: Map is set at dusk. Plenty of some smoke and fog which give it great atmosphere. Save Ferris noted that map, "Has a SPOOKY feel to it." There are a lot of houses and alcoves to take shelter into from fire fights. Houses at the edge of the map have plenty of windows for sniping, but the inner map houses have limited sniper spots. There’s not really any straight shots into the other side of the map, so you have to work your way through some roads and houses, etc. It's got a nice church and graveyard.
**
Antoville, France (Cross Roads)
Recommended players: 6-8
Best Game modes: HQ, TDM and CTF.
Screenshots:
Description: Map is set at sunset. It's a very good looking map (great textures) Lots of houses to take shelter into, the map plays like a mix of the "barn" and "Silo" maps except more houses, less open spaces. Only four buildings with sniper spots, including the barn. Lots of tight areas on the map.
**
Amaye sur Seulles, France (Normandy)
Recommended players: 6-8
Best Game modes: HQ, Deathmatch, TDM, and CTF (very fast CTF)
Screenshots:
Description: map is set at night time. Lots of smoke and some fog. It feels like Villers-Bocage at night. There are a lot of destroyed objects and walls that provide good cover while moving around the map. There a few houses that you can go into, but they are destroyed as well. Nice small map, but I left a little disappointed.
**
Alam Halfa, Egypt (Decoytown)
Recommended players: 6
Best Game modes: Deathmatch
Screenshots:
Description: Night setting, very small map, close quarters, and no fog/very clear. Seems smaller than Vossenack, Germany. It appears to be the map that you call for artillery support against the tanks int he single player game. There are two buildings that you can access the rooftops. Each rooftop has two ladders, so they are not very defensible. There are no way inside the buildings. Nice small map, perfect for deathmatch. Lot’s of cover with tanks, crates, and buildings.
**
Rostov, Russia (Harbor) (Origin from COD PC)
Reccomended players: 8
Best game modes: CTF and HQ
Screenshots:
Description: Snow covered daytime harbor located in Rostov, Russia. It feels like a dock version of the trainyard with fewer indoor places. There are a few hallways and rooms inside warehouses which provide for some nice upclose action. There are several crates in the alleyways which provide ample cover from grenades and gun fire. Machine guns can dominate this map, specially with smoke grenades being used for cover. This one feels like a CTF map. Graphically, it's plain, just snow and bricks. Lots of dead ends.

I may have to download these maps soon, since I was unable to join the game last night after my internet started working again. My only concern is that I pretty much only play COD2 with you DVDTalkers, and it seems I haven't had much of a chance to join in with you guys lately, whether its because I'm busy, or I'm just not online at the same time as everyone else.

Yeah, even with only 4 of us, we seemed to have a great time.

Thanks a lot for the review. I bought the maps today and downloaded them. I got the chance to play a couple of them, and I liked them.

I plan on picking this pack up so if I'm not on your friends list feel free to add me, especially if you need some target practice I seem to stand still too long.
