Guess the stroke was too much..
While I salute him for all the "good" television he was responsible for, I have to take some respect back for creating Tori..

Aaron Spelling was truly an amazing producer that did a long, long list of highly successful TV shows on TV. It's hard for people to list all his TV accomplishments, that's to be sure.
He will be sorely missed.

TV Producer Aaron Spelling Dies at 83
Friday June 23 9:56 PM ET
Aaron Spelling, a onetime movie bit player who turned to television production and created a massive number of hit series, from the vintage "Charlie's Angels" and "Dynasty" to "Beverly Hills 90210" and "Melrose Place," died Friday, his publicist said. He was 83.
Spelling died at his home in Los Angeles after suffering a stroke on June 18, according to publicist Kevin Sasaki.
Spelling's other hit series included "Love Boat," "Fantasy Island," "Burke's Law," "The Mod Squad," "Starsky and Hutch," "T.J. Hooker," "Matt Houston," "Hart to Hart" and "Hotel." He kept his hand in 21st-century TV with series including "7th Heaven" and "Summerland."

He also produced more than 140 television movies. Among the most notable: "Death Sentence" (1974), Nick Nolte's first starring role; "The Boy in the Plastic Bubble" (1976), John Travolta's first dramatic role; "The Best Little Girl in the World" (1981), which starred Jennifer Jason Leigh.
During the 1970s and 1980s, Spelling provided series and movies exclusively for ABC and is credited for the network's rise to major status. Jokesters referred to it as "The Aaron Broadcasting Company."

Wow. I did not even hear he was sick.
Is it wrong for me to say that I hope they already recorded some interview footage for the upcoming Melrose Place DVDs?
I just finished watching the series all the way through on Soap Net. It took almost a year, at 5 episodes a week. I could still watch it again, even the sucky seasons at the end.

Wow, this is such a shock... I didn't believe it when my friend told me!
Aaron Spelling probably has the longest list of television achievements in Hollywood, and he was definately a force to be reckonded with (yet from what I hear a very sweet man).
RIP
and thanks for all the memories that you created for everyone for the last half a century!

I see from his IMDB.com page that he's been producing TV for 50 years. That's quite an accomplishment.
And, no, it's not really all that surprising somebody that old dies. He was born in 1923. He was one of those people you'd see on TV and be surprised he was still alive!
